Lizzie Borden Has to be guilty. First her alibi ended up not checking out. Next was the rather shady behavior. Finally, the destruction of evidence. So because of these reasons her guilt will be proved. I will start with her alibi and others, and if they checked out. First off, John Morse must be innocent. According to the testimony (Morse, 1893) Mr.Morse was out the morning of the murder to run an errand and see his niece. This was in fact confirmed be his niece when she was questioned. Also, Emma Borden is innocent. According to (Linder, 2004) she was away from the home the day and time of the murders meaning she is entirely unlinked to the murders. Proof of this she was spotted at the presumed time of the murders and the time the bodies…
113). In the case study, Gilbury had notified Lewiston numerous times that his conduct was not appropriate; alas his intentions were not to harm her, nor did he say or express any sexual remarks he did make the working environment for Gilbury uncomfortable. Nevertheless, Lewiston should have stopped his conduct the moment he was informed/known that Gilbury was not interested and married. Lewiston’s motives and intent should be considered because he did end up apologizing and wishing the best to Gilbury when he finally realized she was not going to reciprocate his…

Mary Davis needs to debate on what she needs, what is morally right, and what her next action will be. If she needs to pay her bills then it does not matter as to what is morally right or wrong. She would need to focus on keeping her job and act as if she never wrote her article. If she is not desperate to keep her job she should do what is morally right to her which could be sticking to what she believes in. Going into her company and addressing that she was a very hard and consistent worker for them, but she will be leaving due to the situation. She could go to court ad fight that her ultimatum is unjust. She is obligated to be on the side of the company she works for or to pick her own side. She has to choose whether to keep her job or not.…

The goal of Judith Jarvis Thomson in her defense of abortion is to sway the ideas of those who are against abortion by challenging the arguments they give for thinking so. She begins by stating a premise. “For the sake of the argument” a human embryo is a person. This premise is one of the arguments most opponents of abortion use, but as she points out, isn’t much of an argument at all. These people spend a lot of their time dwelling on the fact that the fetus is a person and hardly any time explaining how the fetus being a person has anything to with abortion being impermissible. In the same breath, she states that those who agree with abortion spend a lot of their time saying the fetus is in fact not a person. Either way, no argument is really formed. No reasons are given. For sake of challenging an actual argument, she is disregarding this issue. With this premise out of the way, she addresses the basic argument the pro-choice campaign believes. “Every person has a right to life. So the fetus has a right to life. No doubt the mother has a right to decide what shall happen in and to her body; everyone would grant that. But surely a person’s right to life is stronger and more stringent than the mother’s right to decide what happens in and to her body, and so outweighs it. So the fetus may not be killed; an abortion may not be performed.” The remainder of her paper is a series of analogies meant to challenge the basic argument mention above. When looking at the analogies separately, they are in no way related to the abortion topic, but the conclusions drawn from each can be applied. Because these examples aren’t directly related to the debate, our emotions won’t necessarily be involved and we can clearly think about what is the “right” thing to do for each specific scenario.…
Elizabeth Cady Stanton was motivated by the need for women’s equality within the antislavery organization she was supporting during the Civil War. Stanton projected the idea of the women’s right in the convention placed in Seneca Falls, New York, “The laws of our country, how unjust they are! Our customs, how vicious!” Stanton’s suggestion was The Declarations of Sentiments to be based off the Declaration of Independence as a model to express the ideas eloquently. The year of 1851, Stanton met Susan B. Anthony who collaborated ideas to recruit women in the involvement of the movement and educating women about the surrounding issues beside the war. The collaboration of the two women led to the formation of National Woman Suffrage Association…

Imagine if a women is forced to be a mother, even if she does not want to, even if she is not prepared, would it be fair? Would it be fair that a fifteen year old girl who was raped, was the mother of another girl? It would be a very irresponsible act on the part of the society to leave that girl, who is not even an adult, and let her take responsibility for the life of someone else. In the end, not all the women are the same, which is why everyone has a different opinion and a different perspective on life. Laws disallowing abortion keeps women from settling on the decisions that empower them to carry on with their preferred way of life, and reducing their capacity to contribute to society adequately.…
The speech The Morality of Birth Control pin points several key reasons as to why birth control should be accepted and embraced into the lives of people around the world. Sanger effectively makes her opinion of birth control clear through the use of many classical argumentation tactics. She does not make any concessions to the opposing side what so ever and justifies only her beliefs with valid research presenting concise information. She initially captures the audience with stating that not only should this issue be presented to scientists and theologians but also to the general public, making the people feel important in this situation. Her thesis is that birth control consists of morality because on the whole it benefits the entire human race as well as people individually. She also exposes the hypocrisy within the church on how giving women freedom will lower their morality even though the act of restricting their rights is one of immorality to begin with. She claims that women have knowledge of their bodies and that they can make decisions for themselves, not all being immoral. One point is that birth control allows for choice, inevitably improving the world in all aspects. Concrete examples for her argument are also provided in stating that the right to control the population is an award due to the fact that our world is corrupt with war, disease, and famine, and we should not force people to be born into this. This specific reason is one of morality because Sanger is only considering the unborn that would have to endure the harsh realities found within our world. Not obtaining total control over the population would do nothing but contribute to the downfall of the human race. In my opinion, it is obvious that Sanger has studied thoroughly on this case and has refuted the opposing views with loads of evidence provided. As a reader, she has convinced me of accepting birth control as a glorious contribution to…
