Why Is Walt Disney Better Than The Best
I have always been a huge fan of Disney movies. Even now as a mother of two boys I still watch Disney movies. I love the way the movies and cartoons always have a lesson to them. Whether its good or bad there is always a happy ending in Disney movies. I Never dug deep into Walt’s life but researching for this paper made me realize sometimes the worse is better than the best. It all started with a young boy. A young boy named Walter Disney. Walter Elisa Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois on December fifth 1901. Walt's life was very tough as a child and his family was poor. Walt loved to draw, but because his family was so poor, Walt never had materials to draw. Considering he has no materials to draw he decided to find some of his own. Walt started to draw on the side of the barn on his family’s farm. His first drawing was of Porker the Pig. Walt then found something else to draw on. He decided used toilet paper until his Aunt Margret found his drawings. She was amazed at Walt's talent and bought him a set of coloring markers for his birthday. (Just Disney) …show more content…
His father, Elias was the one giving out the punishments. He never allowed his sons an allowance or any type of fun. Roy was much older and too busy working on the farm. His mother Flora was exhausted by chores and broken in spirit by her mean husband had no time for her young son. The family moved again, this time to Kansas City. (Just Disney) There he enrolled in art classes at the Kansas City Art Institute. But then again the family moved again, this time back to Chicago. In Chicago, Walt joined Red Cross unit and spent nine months as an ambulance driver in France at the end of World War

Walt Disney was not just someone who drew cartoons for a section of a newspaper; he changed the American culture with his creativity and ideas. Walt Disney is a man who changed the way people entertain themselves. Because he inspired so many people, they strive to become who they want to be so that they can be successful, like him. I chose Walt Disney for my project because he has had a major effect on my life through his movies, cartoons, and theme parks. When I saw “Steamboat Willie” starring Mickey Mouse, I thought that it was very interesting because that was one of Disney’s very first films and that is where his career began with Mickey. Walt Disney once said, “It all started with a mouse,” but if you ask me, it did not start off with…

There are plenty of hotbed issues on how the Disney corporation’s sociological and socio political ideologies are embedded into their products and how they affect children, but very few ask why Disney would place hidden ideologies in their movies/shows. What reasons would Disney have to program children with outdated morals while trying desperately to uphold a model image of innocence? What practices has the disney corporation practiced that some would consider immoral or even illegal? To answer these questions the following issues must be explored in more depth: The history and actions of Disney from its inceptions to the present,Walt’s strict “moral” code along with the legacy he left behind, the policies of Disneyland along with the corporation’s political, judicial and economical power, Walt’s ties to the FBI and organized crime syndicates, and the revolving door politics in our government. Disney’s powers have allowed them unprecedented freedoms associated with a private company and the pandora’s box that is Evil Mickey.…

It’s a fair fact that not one person who hasn’t heard or knows of Walt Disney exists. Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5th, 1901. After dropping out of high school to drive ambulances in World War 1, he returned in 1919 to Kansas City, Kansas, for an apprenticeship as a commercial artist. By 1922, Disney has set up a shop with his brother, Roy Disney, and collaborator, Ub Iwerks; they created the business Laugh-o-Grams, which specialized in short cartoons, and the magic began from there and is forever growing stronger. The article “Walter Elias Disney” states, “His (Disney) insistence on technical perfection and his unsurpassed gifts as story editor quickly pushed his firm ahead. The invention of such cartoon characters as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Minnie, and Goofy combined with the daring and innovative use of music, sound, and folk material (as in The Three Little Pigs) made the Disney shorts of the 1930s a phenomenon of worldwide success.”(“Walter Elias Disney”, 1) Some might say Disney’s work was uneducational, was a waste of space, and just plain silly.
