Abstract This Paper Explores three published articles that report about the famous and notorious Zetas Drug Cartel. They include the Zetas origin. Some of the leaders, or drug lords that are involved in the Zetas organization. Some of the crimes they have been rumored to have done. ORIGINS Mexico has been known to transport illegal drugs. There are several drug bands that operate in Mexico and transport drugs to the United States. For a long time the two major cartels in Mexico were the Gulf Cartel and the Sinaloa Cartel. They recruit 15 to 18 year olds, as well as police officers. They have other groups in addition to commandoes. They have Los Halcones, Las Ventanas, Los Manosos, Las Leopardas and Direccion. June 2005: Killed Alejandro Dominguez Coello, police chief of Nuevo Laredo. [3]
March 2006: Forced Nuevo Laredo police chief, Omar Pimentel, to resign. He stepped down hours after police found three charred bodies dumped by the side of a road leading into the border city. [3]

September 2006: Mexican Army arrested three Guatemalan soldiers and five presumed Zetas in Michoacan. They confiscated 12 assault rifles, one 9-mm pistol, 3000 rounds of ammunition, 3 grenades, tactical vests, and 10 Kevlar helmets. [3]
April 2007: Mexican Attorney General Office announced the capture of Eleazar Medina Rojas and nine other Zetas in Nuevo Laredo. They found a stash of weapons, cell phones, radios, bulletproof vests, and a collection of vehicles.
