Why Lying Is Bad
I believe not lying is a good personality, but if you don’t have that personality it can destroy relationships, it becomes a really bad habit, and the people who did trust you might not trust you a little or at all.

Lying is bad because it destroys relationships by when you lie people don’t want to be friends with a liar. If you lie people who wanted a relationship with you might not want one with you any more because you're a liar. Also lying destroys relationships by when you lie people stop trusting you then more won’t trust you until not a lot of people can trust you any more.

Another reason why lying is bad because it can create a really big and bad habit. When you lie you think it’s ok because you didn’t get caught, but when you

The debate over the acceptability of lying is a complicated one. Some feel that it is morally wrong and only ever worsens a situation. Others feel that it is acceptable in cases where feelings could be hurt, or if a person’s self-esteem may be lowered. However, there are instances in which lying happens simply to avoid the consequences of a person’s actions, and most would agree that it is morally wrong. Instead of going back and forth between “lying is wrong” and “lying is okay sometimes,” a better use of our time would be learning to improve our honesty with ourselves and with the people around…

One time I tried going a couple of days without telling a lie, and it was devastating. I noticed that telling the truth all the time is very impossible. Telling the truth comes with some serious consequences: Bank of America charges me 50 dollars fee for going over my limit, lost my best friend because I told her how I truly feel, and I received a failing grade for telling my teacher I didn’t feel like being on time to class today. Basically there must be some type of merit to not telling the truth.…

In the article “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell the Truth” he says that telling the truth can keep a relationship based on reality while also saying that lying keeps people locked their own mind. He states that. “‘ Many people think think they tell the truth, but they don’t because they withhold information. Have the courage to be honest and have a relationship with others based on reality’” (5). If people did not lie then they know that their relationships with friends are based off of facts and not manipulated information. However most relationships are not perfect and some relations might even end if everyone did not withdraw information to one another. The article also says that, “‘But it’s just as likely that you’ll end up losing people whom you don’t want around you anyway’” (15). But if people be honest to each other, they might lose people that they actually want in their lives. Being honest is good but if one is honest they are very likely to offend people and lose friendships in the end. In conclusion, Blanton says that telling the truth can help a relationship with a friend as well as saying that lying keeps people locked in their own minds however relationships can never be perfect and if people were honest they might lose their…

Today society consists of good, yet dishonest company. Deceit is more common than uncommon and research has shown that on a daily basis, lies are consistent in every individual’s life. According to a study done by U.S. News & World Report, for every 10 minutes of mundane conversation, one person will tell two to three lies. However, although lying is an evil action that is regarded by many as immoral or betrayal, research has found that a little lying can actually be good for you (Boser).…

Most of the time it is easier to tell a lie than it is to tell the truth and there is no way that we will ever completely eliminate lying from our society, because it does make our lives so much easier. Sometimes though lying can come with consequences, and it can backfire when someone discovers that you lied. Lying can cause a situation to become worse than it would have been if the truth had been told. Take James Frey for an example. He wrote an autobiography called A Million Little Pieces and the book was featured on Oprah and put on her book club list. After a while it was discovered that parts of his autobiography were not real and he was humiliated on a national level. If he had told the truth then his book could have still been published, but as a fictional story, and he could have still been a successful author and had a bestselling book. You should always be careful with the lies you tell and who you tell them to because there’s always a chance that someone will find out and then you would be in trouble.…

Studies show that the average person lies several times a day. Even the smallest of lies make you stress, which can cause your heart rate and breathing to increase, digestion to slow down, and hypersensitivity of muscle and nerve fibers. These affects may not sound that serious, but over time, they can lead to conditions that no one would want, such as coronary artery disease, stroke, and congestive heart failure. This could happen all because of lying, because when you lie, your blood pressure rises.” Those who lie on a daily basis or have been keeping a big secret for years may find it easy to do so over time, but they are significantly more at risk for these negative health effects than others.” Lying just does not affect you physically but also emotionally. Effects of Lying

Human beings have one thing in common – we all lie. Many of us like to think of ourselves as honest individuals, but what we do not realise is that there are many occasions when we will resort to lying, whether we are aware of it or not. Lying has become a part of our social behaviour such that most of us often think it is okay to do so, without weighing the consequences of our actions. True to what we think, lying can be acceptable, but it depends on the circumstances. There are many reasons for lying: We lie mainly because we want to avoid something from happening, or we are afraid of something; we lie as a joke, for deceptive gains and even sometimes, to protect the people around us. This is especially so when we think that telling those people the “truth” may hurt them, thus we tend to hide the truth by telling them a white lie in order to preserve the relationship. In this case, the lie is often seen as harmless, though it may not necessarily be acceptable to the person being lied at, as some people just prefer the truth, no matter how much it may hurt. There are other forms of lies and what defines a lie is anything that is not the whole truth. Thus, people may lie unconsciously either because they cannot recall the entire truth, or because they think that some information are not necessary and can be omitted. The severity of the consequences for telling lies differs, depending on the type of lie, but these consequences are usually negative.…
