Why My High School Education Is Better Than Grade School
My high school education is better than my grade school education.
To begin, my high education is better because I have more courses to choose from. In grade school, you didn’t get to choose your courses, but in high school you do. If I wanted to take Art 1, or Digital Design, I could. I also have the option to take a language. In grade school, I did not have that option.
Next, my high school education is more challenging. I feel like the more challenging the class, the more I learn. With high school, I can be in a honors class, learning at a faster and more difficult pace. In grade school, that option was not offered to me. For example, if I start to get bored in a regular science class, I could ask my advisor to switch into a honors class.

I see high school as deeper work, more responsibility, and more homework. The teachers are a lot harder on you. In high school, you get more freedom than in middle school because you’re older. There is harder work because the standards are higher. There is more responsibility because the teachers think you can do it and you have to keep up with more books and stuff.…

According to a study conducted by EducationNext, “moving to middle school leads to a substantial drop in student test scores in the first year of the transition, and the relative achievement of middle-school students continues to decline in the subsequent years they spend in such schools.” One aspect of the educational system that I think can be vastly improved is middle school. Although middle schoolers are faced with numerous challenges, the middle school curriculum does not allow students to explore their interests and more importantly, doesn't challenge students enough. In middle school, there is not a lot of advanced coursework that students can complete. This is why I believe that middle school students should have the opportunity to take a more strenuous curriculum by allowing them to take high school classes, as this system will give students the curriculum that they need to succeed and it will give them an abundance of time to explore their interests.…

Education is one of the most important assets in our lives in order to be successful in this world. In pre-school and kindergarten, children prepare for elementary school. Kids learn how to depend on teachers instead of their parents and work with friends. In elementary school, children work with larger groups of people and develop their minds in preparation for middle school. As students transition from middle school to high school, they become more independent and learn how to use their time wisely and work by themselves; all of these changes help prepare students for college. However, I became prepared for college the most in high school through academic programs such as taking advanced placement classes, listening to the advice from my art teacher, and developing smarter study habits to pursue my goals.…

High school classes might have seemed better in the past compared to college. You might feel more comfortable in smaller classes than you would heading off to university, but that is simply from the comfort of your surroundings. You are familiar with your teachers and your closest friends are always by your side. This might create a friendlier environment, but branching away from the only things you have ever known will help you grow as an individual. Leaving home to start your life as an adult can be tough; however, learning every day responsibilities and making new relationships are two things that will benefit anyone who is getting ready to enter the “real world.” Students benefit more from college classes over high school classes because they learn responsibilities and create new relationships which help them to gain independence.…

Earning your high school diploma is a choice that will often shape the rest of your life. Because of the limited amounts of college spots available, a high school diploma makes you a front runner for one of those spots allowing you to get a better education. Despite the fact that I have known I wanted to be a civil rights lawyer and major in political science since middle school, throughout my high school career I have taken a well-rounded and diverse course-load at a high level. I like the intellectual challenge of working through a class that might be out of my comfort zone. Exposing myself to this high level thinking in multiple areas has fostered new interests in subjects such as biology that I would not have discovered if I stuck solely on the honors path for my desired career. Although, I will not major in biology, taking the course has helped me grow as a learner, gaining new studying and analytical tactics, which has impacted me in all of my…
