When we neglect to study the book of Revelation, we not only take away parts of the book, but we take away the entire book itself. A book that was written for our understanding of Christ and of the things going on at that time. It is important to study the book of Revelation because we have been given a commandment from God to not take away from it, and we are told the consequence of not doing so: our names will be taken out of the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things that are written in the book (22:19). The third reason we must study the book of Revelation is because we can see how God takes care of His people. In Revelation 6, we read about six of the seven seals being opened. In the opening of the fifth seal, we see the martyrs (verses 9-11) who are crying out for God. They cry, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth,” (verse 10). We can see their pain and their sorrow; but it does not go unnoticed.
