Why People Shouldn’t Smoke Do you think smoking is “cool”? I don’t … because if you think smoking is “cool”, then I suppose you think jumping off a building is “cool” too? Because when you smoke it’s harmful to your health just like how jumping off a building is. Most people think it’s “cool” to smoke but it’s really not. Why would you choose to live a unhealthy life by smoking rather than to live a healthy life without smoking when they’re no benefits to smoking? I think that most people that smoke don’t know all the disadvantages and caution of smoking, so I’m here to tell all of you smokers out there why you shouldn’t smoke. I would like to begin by helping you realize the dangers and health risks of smoking, then followed by how smoking does not only damage your own health but it damages health of people around you too, and lastly I will talk about why you will lose a lot of money by smoking.

Each year, smoking kills more people than AIDS, alcohol, drug abuse, car crashes, murders, suicides and fires-combined! That’s unbelievable! Smoking damages your health in many ways, for example it can cause cancer, serious ailments (such as heart attacks and strokes), respiratory problems, asthma attacks, cold fingers, and dull sense of smell and taste. Smoking can increase your chances of having a premature death. Do you want those problems happening to you? I don’t think so… so don’t smoke! It will only ruin your life! Approximately 3.5 million people worldwide each year die because of smoking; hopefully you won’t be one of those people.

Not only is it bad for your own health but it’s also bad for other people’s health. You’re probably wondering “why is it bad for other people’s health when they aren’t smoking?” Well it’s because there’s something called second hand smoke, Second-hand smoke is the smoke from a burning cigarette,

Even more concerning is the link between smoking and the two leading causes of death: cancer and heart disease. In fact, the government has made sure that smokers are aware of these risks by advertising the dangers of smoking on tobacco cartons. However, even the dark reality of charred lungs, throat cancer, and gum disease is not enough to persuade many.
