I don’t really understand the point of it all. Schools should teach us how to plan for the future, how to make a more advanced community, world even. Not lecture us about 90 year old facts. If you want to become a historian or something of that sort then more power to you, but what about all the rest of us? School systems are basically wasting our time with this stuff, when we could be learning and becoming more advanced at doing what we actually want to do with our lives. I guess being forced to go to school and sit through classes for the first 12 years of your life is the average way of humanity, but I feel like things need to change and school shouldn’t be forceful learning. People will not need to know the Pythagorean Theorem when they graduate high school or which elements hydrogen forms a polar bond with. I believe that many schools focus on teaching students the basic knowledge in each subject but in my opinion, I feel like we should only learn about these classes to an extent…If I want to grow up to be a painter, I don’t need to study algebra even though it’s required. Schools need to focus more on letting the students focus on the path they want to take rather than overwhelming them with a bunch of useless work.
