Why School Should Be Longer
A lot of children who attend public as well as private schools in the U.S spend up to 175 to 185 days a year in school. Some people think that the school day should be longer. People say that kids should stay in school longer as time goes on that kids lose knowledge over the summer. People want the school days to be longer. So they say that the school days should longer so students learn more in that day. “Studies on education of school budget shortfalls are challenging school districts to rethink the standard five days a week schedule.” Budget cuts in Colorado had 14 schools switch to four long days slightly of five days a week through four longer days are proven greater for kids, but also teachers. It leaves kids behind by them not learning or studying during the break. So they tend to lose things during summer break There is a reason why schools shut down for 10 weeks every summer, but not for a wonderful reason. The reason being that it’s been like that since the 20th century. People think that it should stay the same because it has never changed. Learning should be a year round for students, even during the summer. In September students get up as well as go back to school having lost two months worth of learning. People feel that the school should stay the same as five days a week. The Public school days system is spending millions of dollars a year to extend the school year at the worst performing elementary school. But the five days a week is showing a little rise in the benefit of students moreover teachers. This is why school should stay as a five days a week. So people think that the normal five day a week should stay the same like it has been over the years.
