that it's around 6p.m their internal clocks are delayed because of puberty.(MC) I agree with this because I had the same problem with going to sleep early. Since teen’s internal clocks are delayed, I think teens need more sleep so they can be more alert during the day, and so they can learn better in school. The lack of sleep can cause the following, likelihood of experiencing depressed moods, likelihood for tardiness, absenteeism, bad grades, risk of drowsy driving ,and risk of metabolic and nutritional deficits associated with insufficient sleep, including obesity.(NSF) I have some of these symptoms and this is also probably why most teens hate school (the teens who like school is because they get to see their friends). The lack of sleep also affects how a student learns in school. Homework and tests are another reason why teens stay up late. Teens gets stressed from test which makes them worry about their grades and how they are going to pass. Homework will make a teen stay up because they know they have to do it. This is another reason why schools should start later in the day.
The benefits for the teachers is that they get to sleep in later, they can get to work on time also so they won’t be asleep during the day. the parents have some pros and cons. The pros of this is that the can make sure that their kids are learning to their fullest potential , they can eat breakfast every morning, and be sure that their homework is done. The cons of this is if they have to be a work very early in the morning, this can cause the teen not to go to school every day and if they need to get something done they can’t if the kids are home in the morning. The benefits for the teens is that they get enough sleep to make them more active at school so they can learn to their fullest get good grades so they can get good jobs.
