Why Should Solar Energy Be Invested On The Military?
Weaponry, its essence From a civilian’s viewpoint, such an extensive amount of energy should be allotted to an important aspect of the society and the government. There are several reasons why solar energy should be invested on the military.
1- In the present geopolitical situation, the military is the biggest asset a country can have. Taking a look at worldwide politics, a country’s strength is contingent upon how able it is to combat other countries to prevent them from bullying the each other. Take China, Russia, America and France for example. The rationale behind their international prowess and influence is their capability to militarize and their fully advanced military technology. With this, the said countries were able

Aside from political power, the Philippines should also be able to cater to its citizens and to protect them from attacks and ensure their security. From dreaded terrorists to individual crime rates, the military should also be capable of protecting citizens through advanced armory, tracking systems and efficient justice systems (Gray, 2011). Most of the problems in today’s military strategy are not the existence of the equipment but the capability to power them up and therefore reduce the costs for their creation (Gray, 2011). With the aid of solar power, the military can produce better equipment that can easily track down wanted individuals, or those that can place internal security systems to provide people with increased security both inside and outside their homes. With solar energy, the military can also be able to combat vicious terrorists such as ISIS or the Al-Qaeda and therefore restore political and social stability in the world.
With the aid of solar energy, these newly developed military technologies can be powered in simple, effortless ways that will indeed shift their focus to strategizing and solve the problem of lack of energy for their existing machineries. Solar energy can also solve the problem of fuel sources when the military is attending battle in the most remote parts of the globe (O’meara, 2011). These military technologies range from the minutest essentials to the grand apparatus needed in full armed

The use of Solar generators are also quite popular nowadays in offshore military camps and combat fields. Instead of utilizing billion gallons of fuel from gas and oil, these solar generators extract energy from the sun’s radiant energy which it then transforms to electricity for the whole camp to consume. With this, less money is allotted for fuel sources which then cheapen the amount of money spent on energy and electricity. It also improves mobility in the battle field, as the soldiers can now move camp from one place to another easily because their fuel is not contingent to their fuel sources anymore. (SEIA, 2013). As shown in statistics by SEIA (2013), from 20 gallons of fuel a day, the generators only use 2.5 gallons a day after the introduction of Solar energy.
3. In Case studies by SEIA (2013), several areas are already utilizing valuable solar energy facilities such as the China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station that possesses a solar farm capable of powering the whole weapons station with 30% clean energy annually which can save the stations of over $13 Million dollars of electric

In 1971, a husband and wife, Aden and Marjorie Meinel, patented an idea to produce solar panels in the Mojave Desert. The solar panels they proposed were to stretch through the Mojave Desert for 5,000 miles and would collect 1,000,000 megawatts of electrical power. The electrical energy would then be stored in a manufacturing facility locally so that the solar energy could be converted and used by millions of people. The Meinel’s proposal was dismissed in the 1970’s, but recently, solar panel plants have begun to sprout in the Mojave Desert. There are currently fourteen pending solar projects that have been proposed to be built in the Mojave Desert. There are also currently already four solar plants built there.…

The ideal system for homeowner is the grid connected system in which excess power can be produced than be sold back to the industry and reduces the immediate debt of the system, making it extremely convenient and satisfying for homeowners that are skeptical of investing in any of these solar-capturing devices, because of the potential for these devices to be effective and justifiable over time, however arranging for grid interconnection can be tedious and difficult. On the other hand with standalone systems, they are proven to be more cost efficient than power lines. However, with standalone, surplus power gained would be wasted or be preserved in a battery that the system runs on, following this further, standalone systems are also dependent on a battery source to operate during the night, and in standalone systems like the Hybrid we see the need for other and more additional sources of energy like wind or diesel, that ultimately defeat the purpose to the development and use of these solar capturing devices.…

Energy is an important factor in todays society, it is neccesary to power business, manufacturing and the transportation of goods and services all around the world. Solar powered energy is energy from the sun. This energy can be conerted into different energy like heat and electricity. Heat can be used to heat water or heat spaces, for example heating for houses, buildings or even swimming pools. Solar energy can be converted in two ways, by Photovoltaic or “solar cells” which change sunlight directly into electricity or by concentrating solar power plants which generate electricity by using heat from solar thermal collectors. Coal powered energy has played an important role in the advancement of civilization and will continue to be a major fuel source for at least the next quarter century. It is used primarly to produce electricty and heat through a dirty process which involves mining and combustion of the fuel. The two most common types of coal mining used today are surface mining and underground mining. In the long run, solar energy has greater potential than coal powered energy.…

Furthermore, renewable energy is a very niche market. It makes up only 8% of the total energy industry. SolarWorld’s practice, active solar technology, occupies just 1% of the total renewable energy due to its high cost and capital investment. This leaves a big hole for threat of substitutes such as coal, nuclear or natural gas energy, which are mostly the primary choice before renewable energy.…

Secondly, solar energy is one of the major renewable energy that Argentine government trying to develop. Argentina is the third-largest economy in Latin America, and one of the emerging markets around the world. However, the shortage in electricity is the major obstacle of the development. “Electricity demand continues to grow steadily in the country and forecasts suggest an ongoing annual increase of 6%. Estimates indicate that an additional 1 GW of new generation capacity per annum will be necessary to satisfy this growing demand” (Grotz, Decundo and Ernst and Young). To solve the problem, Argentine government not only passed a law to ensure that “8% of electricity demand should be generated by renewable sources by 2016”, but also developed…

It is one of the most important non-conventional sources of energy due to the fact that its free and we have plenty of it. Humans have been using it since ancient times. Solar energy can be use two ways, we can convert it into heat energy or it can converted into electricity. It has had a rapid growth in recent years, accounting for less than one percent of electricity used in the United States today. The market exceeds sales of 29 billion dollars and 1.6 billion of that money goes to the United States alone with California leading the way.…
