Why soccer is the best sport
By: Omar
Soccer is the most played sport worldwide, many people love it and I’m one of them, it is my favorite sport because you can improve your skills with your feet, and get a lot of exercise. By writing this essay, I hope that I can provide more information about the sport and maybe convert the people who dislike the sport into fans.
I have heard from some people that soccer is a boring sport, but the truth is, it’s a very interesting sport with a lot of excitement in it. When playing soccer, ball control is critical, you need possession of the ball in order to keep it away from the other team players, and at times, it can be fun because if you have possession of the ball most of the game, your chances of winning is higher. In a soccer game, there is goal kicks, corner kicks, penalty kicks, penalty shots, and, throw-inn’s. A goal kick happens when a shot has missed the net, and you get a free kick in front of the goal. A corner kick is when the ball goes out of bounds between the goal post and the corner, the last person that touched it has to be on the team that is defending the goal. A throw-in is when the ball goes out on either side of the vertical field lines. Some people think that you don’t get exercise from soccer; the fact is that all positions do get exercise some get more than the others. When you play defense, you have to be focused where the ball goes and help your goalie out so no goals can be scored on him. Another position that people run a lot is mid-fielders. They have to play offence and they have to play defense, so they are running back and forth constantly to help on defense, and to help on offence. Another position that runs a lot is the offence they have to break thru the defence and secure a goal to make their team win. In some countries soccer is not a popular game, they think that soccer is a bunch of people chasing a ball to score a goal; maybe they think that because they have never

The soccer kick is the essence of association football (soccer). This move is performed in every single game of football all over the world, whether it’s professional or amateur. There are two main ways of classifying kicks in soccer; the free kick and kicks in general play. The free kick occurs when a player impedes one of the laws of the game and the opposing team are therefore awarded a ‘free kick’ without the other team touching the ball and must be a certain distance away from the ball and the player who is kicking it. The kicks in general play are very OPEN skills as there are countless different scenarios when it comes to the soccer pitch. The free kick is somewhat CLOSED because of the ball being stationary on the ground however the distance and environment is still very unpredictable. The soccer kick is a GROSS MOTOR skill as I will show further in the report almost all the muscle groups will be utilised and activated. The soccer kick is also a SERIAL skill; the run up, striking of the ball and follow through all come into play.…

    How To Play Soccer Essay

To play right back on a soccer team you have to know when to move and where to move on the pitch. For example if the ball is on the left side of the pitch on a team’s half a right back player would have to drop behind the center back for extra defense against the other team. Another example would also be if a player on the opposite team confronts the right back defending they would need to go up to them and have a defensive stance 2 feet away. This stance would either push them to the side of the pitch towards the line or depending on how close they…

People ask me why I care so much. They tell me it’s just a game, get over it. But soccer has never been just a game to me. Soccer has been consuming my time, thoughts, and body since my parents signed me up for small-time recreational soccer twelve years ago that developed into extremely competitive travel soccer. They, perhaps unknowingly, threw me headlong into a life of traveling countless miles, long nights of practice, and an unforgettable amount of tears, sweat, and bloodshed. All which persisted over the course of my extensive soccer career.…

Now that you have an idea of the rules of professional soccer, I will continue to explain the popularity and passion of the game. Soccer is very widely played all over the world. The most prestigious international soccer competition is that of the world cup, held every four years, it lasts about a month, the most recent one being held in South Africa world cup 2010. With more than a billion viewers a day and tuned in to approximately 30 billion times, it is more popular than the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Masters, and the NBA finals. One reason many researchers believe it is so popular, especially in third world countries is because of the lack of things needed in order to play. All you need is a goal and a ball. Soccer is so much a part of so many people’s everyday lives.…

For this tournament, we went to Madison and the tournament was called Madison Rush Spring Classic 2015. In this tournament, there were two brackets and my team was in Bracket B. As my childhood gradually transitioned into my adolescent years, I was old enough to realize my dreams of becoming a professional athlete wouldn’t serve as a career path. By the time middle school rolled around, I slowly narrowed down by ambitious list of activities to the one I was most passionate about: soccer. Through the first awkward relationships, real homework assignments and horrifying threat of detentions, soccer was always something I could look forward to.…

I remember when I was five, I would always attend my step sister’s soccer games during the weekend while at my dad’s. I would always love to watch but I was more of a hands on person. I have always wanted to play soccer but unfortunately it was harder to do for a kid, like me, when I had divorced parents that lived 40 minutes away from each other. It was so hard because usually when it came to soccer, the games would be during the weekend and practices would be a few days during the week. Finally, after my sophomore year I decided to try again and play for my school.…

Ever since I was a freshman in high school I struggled in school, and I think part of it was because of my time management and me just not being responsible enough. I had that mentality that soccer was everything to me and something that was going to help me make it in life. After years past I realized without the grades I won’t be able to play the sport I love at a college level. I use to attend Iona Prep and I loved everything about that school. I competed at the varsity level as a freshman and also was the kicker for the football team. I feel like that was part of the problem. I played two sports in the same season and I just did not manage my time well. I’m not saying it’s not impossible to have good grades and…
