Why Thanksgiving Is Important To Me
As the holidays come closer my emotions start escalating. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years can be very exciting dates but also very thoughtful and saddening. Many times several things occur suddenly, not always good but not always bad. At times we aren’t prepared for anything else but good things to happen, without considering there is no sunshine without a little rain. Thanksgiving is right around the corner and it is about being thankful for anything we’ve had or have throughout our life. It isn’t about the material things “Oh because I just got a new iPhone, or a new iPad” it is much more than that. At time we can be ungrateful with the things we have and still want more, without coming to think we may already have what other wish to receive. Just like how we want more, we could have less. I like many others, have several things and people to be grateful for. I am thankful for having a very distinguished family, although some of us may be far in distance, we are close in heart. Siblings to love and look up to, I appreciate their moral support, advice, care and bond. My nieces and nephews who make me look like their role model, who I share my love and care with, and who make me definitely not want any children soon.
Secondly, I am thankful for my parents who have been there for me in every way and have shared their love with us

I thank god every day and night for giving me the privilege of letting me meet my grandfather for the nine last yet most memorable years of his life. Someone who has made my emotions rise high and drop low, one who has proven me the impossible. The women who has proven to me what it truly is to never give up, one who has gone through so much and keep fighting, my grandmother. Someone more like a second mother to us, who I cherish every single minute that passes. She is my treasure in life. I will forever be

The Lord is a very generous and loving God. We, as followers and believers of Christ, should be thankful for everything He does. Many people in the world are not thankful for all the things the Lord does for them. They tend to complain about their life and worry about what they do not have rather than think about all the things they are privileged to have. People worry too much about who has the best phone, or car, or house, etc. and they do not focus on what is really important, which is their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is very easy to think of all the things we do not have and be unthankful. We can be jealous and covetous. But the hard thing to do is to remember to thank God for everything He has provided for us and for the wonderful life that He has given us.…

Throughout my 13 years I have been through so far, I have thankfully not experienced losing someone really close to me, losing a prized possession, etc. Everyone hopes these things will never happen, but I know one day I will, even when trying to avoid them, it’s impossible. However, there was one moment that made me realize all the grateful things I already have around me. This day, was Thanksgiving day of 2012, in Central Park, Pasadena, when I was helping out at a little event for the homeless.…

Thanksgiving is the time of year you give thanks to God for the bountiful harvest. Thanksgiving is now a statutory holiday in most parts of Canada, with the exception of the Atlantic provinces. In Canada, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday in October. I remember the cold Monday morning in 2009 when my whole family got together and celebrated Thanksgiving. We usualy dont celebrate thnaksgiving but this time my cousins insisted we do. All of our close reletives came to my cousin's house and celebrated it. Even though we didnt have the traditional thanksgiving dinner it was good. We had a great time and it was the first time all of our relatives were together (exept weddings). I think Thanksgiving is important because it shows how…

Thanksgiving, one of the most joyful times of the year- unless you're a turkey. You see, this whole Thanksgiving thing started about four hundred years ago. In that time, more than 18000 million of my closest relatives have been murdered. I would escape but i'm a domestic turkey, so i can't fly. I were a wild turkey, i would waddle away from this place, after all, a am the biggest turkey in the pen. Many of the young fryers in my pen don’t know their fate, but I do. How does one of the most highly respected animals in the animal kingdom fall this low, I mean, we were almost the national symbol of the United States of America and now, we are being ripped apart, pulverized, and eaten by our own people. Us turkeys have to watch out for our own, it's a dangerous world out there.…

The day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 23, 2016, my parents, sister, and I file into my dad’s 2006 Chevy Silverado (with five dogs and luggage) and we travel to my paternal grandparent’s house in Mansfield, Ohio for a great Thanksgiving celebration. During the two-hour car ride from Warren, Ohio to Mansfield, Ohio, my family listens to the Sirius XM Holiday Music Channel. We partake in the “premature listening to Christmas music ritual” because as my dad expresses, “My girls are home from college and I made my cranberry dressing, it feels like the holidays to me.” Under this reasoning, my family deems it acceptable to prematurely listen to the holiday music. As we arrive at my grandparent’s house, the dogs start jumping and wagging…

And finally, Family. I’m grateful to be brought up in such a kind and loving family. Growing up my dad used to always tell me that a family is where home is. It’s not so easy being grateful since it’s really hard to be happy with what you already have and realizing how lucky you are to have them. I honestly wasn’t grateful for anything, I thought I never had enough, I always wanted more. Till the day came that reality slapped me across the face and helped me open my eyes to something’s I thought I would never notice. I didn’t learn to be grateful all by myself, I had the help of an amazing friend that and I’m glad she came around because if it was for her, I’d still be the same old ignorant person I used to be.…
