Why The Greasers Revealed In The Outsiders
In the book The Outsiders by S.E. hinton it is about the 1960’s in Tulsa, Oklahoma there were two groups the Socs and the Greasers. The Greasers were the poor one’s who lived in small houses. The socs were the rich ones who lived in the big houses and drove the nice cars.

The hated the Greasers and made fun of them because they thought they were all horrible people. The only reason Ponyboy got jumped was because he was a greaser, the only reason Johnny got jumped was because he was a greaser. The socs judged the greasers and thought they were something they aren’t.

The Greasers misjudged the socs as well. Throughout the beginning of the movie the Greasers think that the socs are just a bunch of rich spoiled kids who get drunk and jump

    Since Ponyboy is a Greaser, a Greaser usually gets jumped by a Socs. While Ponyboy tells about how Johnny got jumped, Ponyboy also gets jumped for the first time. “‘ I had never been jumped, but I had seen Johnny after four Socs got hold of him, and it wasn't pretty.     Ponyboy and his gang are pitted against the hateful, judging, and cruel middle class and higher. They are discriminated against because of their lack of money, and are constantly being cornered and beat up. After being cornered by the Socs, Ponyboy was asked, “You guys know what Greasers are?
