Why The Military Should Be Volentary
Most think that being in the military is the start of life and that it teaches you discipline. But the United States has the strongest military in the world. If they want to fight, they can fight, if they dont want to then they shouldn't have too. It should all be a choice. So if they want to risk their lives, that is their choice not anyones to make.
Being able to join the military, should be volentary. The benifits are far better then being forced so serve because people will be more willing. They will be more willing to fight, to risk their lives for the freedom of the country. If you foroced kids/ young adults to join and be forced to serve, the less they will want to help and to do their job. The forced soliers will not have the passion

To begin with, it is necessary to define what is a military draft. A military draft is known as a system which individuals who are 18 through 25 years of age are required to join and serve in the Army if they prove to be suitable after an appropriate assessment. Then after proper training, are sent to war or assigned to duties within the Army. Lately, a military draft reinstatement is gaining more attention since the military has a serious problem with recruitment and retaining, however some Americans argue that a military draft directly involves a set of particular disadvantages. Although the military draft no longer exists there are several advantages to mandatory enlistment in the military.…

I do not agree with the reinstitution of a military draft. In 1973 the military draft was lifted in the United States and with good reason. The United States should not rely on a draft to fill military vacancies but rely on recruitment. It is true that the military offers incentives and luxuries that some civilians could not afford otherwise such as food, shelter, and medical care. However, they are just that, incentives. The military is an option and should remain that way. Many enlist for different reasons, some with economical reasons, others with strong political urges, but they enlist out of their own desires, beliefs, and more importantly, free will. Some see the military as a way of life; others see it as the only way to educate themselves in a society where education is valued so highly. With rising tuition costs, many enlist in the reserves as a guarantee for their degree. College is costly and even with the aid of tuition assistance and can leave a graduate drowning in debt. These are all choices all college bound 18-25 year olds make and some just do not have the luxury of choosing.…

I do not believe that the United States should institute in the practice of requiring people to serve in the military. While it would be very loyal to the United States, I think people should have the rights to choose their own career and not be forced into something they have no interest in. Also with so many people being forced into the military for one or more years, other jobs would not have people to fill up positions, important jobs such as police officers, doctors, teachers, or even people in entertainment. Which would really change up the economy.…

As of today, the military has a volunteer service only as its profile. As stated in a Farlex dictionary a military volunteer is “a person who freely enlists for service”. Any american citizen over 18 can volunteer for any branch regardless of gender, ethic, or religion. Other than soldiers, doctors, lawyers, scientists and a wide range of other careers are recruited and used in the military. The volunteer system supports the Declaration of Independence's phrase of guaranteeing citizens the right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” by giving Americans the freedom of choice to chose to serve the country, or live about freely. The majority of America doesn't like the idea of having a draft introduced again, since it doesn’t exactly fit the phrase of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”, in all aspects of citizens trying to achieve the “American Dream”. Though the majority of citizens is…

On July 4, 1776, we claimed our independence from Britain and Democracy was born. Every day thousands leave their homeland to come to the "land of the free and the home of the brave" so they can begin their American Dream. For this reason young men and women should want to join the military and protect their nation’s freedom. Even though men and women do not want to go to war especially one that they do not believe in, they should join the military because exceptional benefits, life changing experience, and most of all to protect our nation’s freedom from those that want to harm us.…

In some countries, every young person must serve two years of military service. The general public in the United States feels that we should allow that in our country while other people disagree. A two-year period of military service should be mandatory for all young adults, but making the devotion to serving that time in the military should be each individual’s decision. Personally, young adults should be able to live their lives of how they want it, and other mature people should be able to volunteer for the military. Each individual should be able to make their own choices in life and not be forced to do something they strongly disagree with. Granting opportunities to young and mature people will help the military enlist a mature recruit, strengthen the military clan, and attract even more people to join in the military. We should be able to grant choices to the young and mature adults and respect their decision.…

Also, our military plays a major role in our nation. Without a military our nation would not be what it is today. Some families are military families and raise their children with the intentions or hopes of them going into the military. Whereas some families raise their children to be afraid of the military and teach them that war is a very bad thing. Other families let their children chose the military life but are behind them all the way. It used to be that women were not allowed to be a part of the military and today in some families still frown upon. Without the families that teach their children to take on the great responsibility of serving in the military our nation would cease to exist. Serving in our nation’s military is the ultimate duty.…

Should the United States have mandatory military conscription, and if so, who shall be required to serve? Military conscription will make it mandatory for citizens to serve in the military, usually men and women among the ages of eighteen through twenty-five. They will be required to serve at least two years. Only the able-bodied will be forced to serve. It can help to solve the economic problems are country is facing. The draft would be a good way to divide the burden of war so it doesn’t solely affect the people who really want to aid their country. When people feel like the draft is unconstitutional, the draft doesn’t deprive them rights, rather than giving them the right to “defend their country”.(Say Registration or Draft Not Needed 1979) Many people believe that war is bad, and I can agree, but being drafted doesn’t necessarily mean going immediately to war, you could be drafted in a time of no major conflicts and assist in a safe yet vital role in the military as a doctor, nurse or something as simple as a cook to be able to prepare food for hungry troops. For those that volunteer rather than being drafted, carry all the burden on their shoulders while…

Personally I don’t believe that the U.S. should make citizens serve in the military. I believe this because people should be able to choose what they want to do in life and what they want to study and what they want to make of themselves. Often people don’t even have the physical strength or abilities to join the military, or the mental state to serve. Yes, I know that our country needs protection but we need other things too.…

The military is essential for a country, but it takes people to fulfill the role and the needs of the military. Recruiters have been on a hunt for those who are able-bodied and this leads them straight to the young people. Many think of this as a problem because the children shouldn’t be limited to just the military, but some are looking forward to joining the military. Military based programs and recruiters do a good job of interesting people into joining the military. Marines have been searching for women in high school sports teams because of their athleticism. Although some think that military recruiters in the high school can be disruptive, and the Pentagon has been looking for ways around this to recruit more young people to the military.…
