The North won the Civil War for various reasons. The North had better resources, they had 22 million people verses in the South where they only had about 15.5 million people. They also had more tracks 22 thousand miles while the South had only 9 thousand. The train was used to the Northerners advantage because they could get their supplies faster like food, ammunition, water and clean clothes. The South didn't have the industry to produce good and the ports were all blocked so other imports from other counties couldn't come in.…
The war (Civil War) between the North and South was a major war that included more than 100,000 troops. North and South had to turn to their neighboring countries to find more men willing to fight with them. Both started to developed strategic plans. The south wanted their independence and the North wanted to preserve their Union. Believing that a time for negotiating has passed Lincoln believed the North had to physically conquer the Confederates to gain control of the South.…
The South would also have a moral advantage in the eyes of diplomats all over the globe. They would be included in one of the greatest alliances of all time, the three European superpowers. The Confederate’s diplomacy would be off the charts. After the war the benefits would not stop.…
The North had advantages during the civil war because they had more railroad tracks to transport things. They used railroad tracks a lot because they need to get food and uniforms to the soldiers. Also so they could get places faster and try to beat the south there and scope out the area. They also have a population of 22 million people that either help someway…
The south and north had both felt confident they both could win the civil war; however the north won the war victoriously. I perceived upon my reading the historic roots of the north union army history and my thoughts regarding why the north union army would indeed win the civil war. George Washington was born in Virginia, which was considered a southern state and would be naturally a part of the confederacy. George Washington lived and died in Mount Vernon Virginia; however during his life span he was the leader of the continental army; which dissolved mostly but then later the patriotic belief and principle would become the Union of the north army. The rich history that currently makes up our united states to this day, the flag we currently…
In 1862 many people truly believed that the Confederacy was winning the Civil War. The Union believed it and the other countries believed it. The Union struggled with their military leaders and they weren’t familiar with the South's land. The struggles that the North had before Gettysburg led to everyone believing that the South was going to win the Civil War.…
According to me, the Union would have eventually won the war. The Union had a lot of power and a better army. They had better plans to invade the land such as the ports they took, the support and the congress passing laws such as the Emancipation Proclamation. The North invaded multiple ports giving the North access to the Confederate both by land and water. The North would have soon been able to take all the land instead making them surrender.…
It obtained all its advances, by having the federal government deal with the costs. The Union didn’t have slaves because they were against that. The Union and Confederacy differed greatly when it came to their beliefs and what they stood for. The Confederacy, or south, consisted of elven states like, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and a few others.…
<br>Industrially the South couldn't keep up in output of weapons, ammunition and other supplies. That is one of the main reasons the South looked overseas for help. Jefferson Davis knew that the South was at a disadvantage so he looked to England and France. By the end of the war, the South had, more or less, plenty of weaponry still, but it just didn't have enough men to use the guns. By getting either England or France on the Confederate side, supplies would have been more plentiful and also it would have inevitably ended up doing great damage economically to England's maritime trade. However, the fact remained that foreign recognition was denied to the Confederacy in all its attempts.…
Thomas Deck AMH 2020 M,W,F 9:30-1020 Paper 1 Whether it be at home or abroad, time and time again fundamentally conflicting ideas have resulted in physical confrontation. The United States has a love affair with war, dating back to its creation in 1775 and the revolutionary war. No war however has had such a dramatic effect on American society as the Civil War. It has been said that “the although the north won the war, the south won the peace”.…
Most of us know the outcome of the Civil War even though it was fought over 150 years ago. Yet, even though we know the North won the Civil War, the reason for the win is not obvious. First, the Union was able to out maneuver the Confederacy because of the strong Navy. In spite of having a better home field advantage, the South was unable to contend with naval bases, vessels and access to waterways located in the North. Additionally, the Union’s Navy kept the Southern seaports and the Mississippi blocked, choking any hopes they had of shipping or receiving goods from Europe and adversely affecting the economy.…
One day all of the world were watching there TV’s. They were watching their TV’s because of the rage in America, at the time none of the country's liked the U.S because of their presidential election. Let's start from the beginning. It all started with the final election.…
The KKK was a dangerous group of people who thought that the whites were better than everyone else but the most targeted group was blacks. They thought that if they put themselves into a position of power then the blacks wouldn't do anything. And it went that way but later on, in the story, blacks got angry and wouldn't stand for the oppression. They also struck fear into the hearts of blacks by physical and psychological tactics. The KKK was created by a group of confederate soldiers because the blacks helped the north win the war.…
The American Civil war as no different yes, it was a war where a nation fought against itself and it is now seen as one of the bloodiest war in U.S. history, but the north (The Union) had modern, more advanced technology in the navy and the army. Whereas the south (The Confederate) was not as advanced and their navy and army lacked the modern weapons that the north had. Modern technology isn't the only reason why the north won the civil war. The north used the modern technology that they had and planned their strategies and tactics around the technology. During the civil war, the introduction of ironclads was only the tip of the iceberg because there also came the development of building submarines, underwater mines, and torpedoes.…
Less than one hundred years after the United States gained independence, the American Civil War began. This fight was between the North who at the start wanted to reestablish the Union and the South who wanted to create their own country so they could do as they pleased. In the end, the North won. This was not without hundreds of thousands of casualties on both sides, the Civil War is widely known as the war with the most American deaths of all time. By the end of the war, the North was fighting for the abolition of slavery but the North's motives changed throughout the war because of the Emancipation Proclamation, integration of the army, and the change in the public's perspective.…
