For years the Trojan War was a very famous war, for its story about the famous wooden horse to the many movies that were inspired by this tale.
I for one used to believe that it indeed happened, but with little to no information. In the story it discuss the greek god and goddess, like how homer says in the Iliad that Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite were fighting because Eris the Goddess of Discord, would give her golden apple to the fairest woman there. All three of them thought they should have that apple, Eris wanted Zeus to pick, but he declined. Instead they let Paris, the youngest son to the king of Troy, decided. All three woman promised Paris something in return if he gave it to them. Hera, promised amazing powers. Athena, promised him glory on the battlefield. Aphrodite, promised could have the love of the most beautiful earthly woman. So Paris gave Aphrodite the apple.
Another reason the Trojan war may not of happened is because they never had real proof that Homer, never existed. He maybe real, but were not sure. We never found any proof of where he lived or when he was alive exactly. He wrote more poetry than just …show more content…
The man who may have found the ruins name was, Heinrich Schliemann. Schliemann believed that the stories that homer told were true. He went on a trip to Greece to find where was. He went to a place called Hissarlik. He read his copy of the Iliad, and he read that Hector and Achilles chased each other three times around the walls of Troy, which would equal 9 miles. He found the area of Troy, he then digged to find the ruins. He didn't find just one city-state, he found many, at least 9. He then figured out the Troy was somewhere between the 6th or 7th level. After that he turned to Mycenae to see if he could find the ancient city-state that invaded troy. He had luck in this too. There were traders and raiders throughout the Mediterranean
