Tom and Jerry has a worldwide audience and has been recognized as one of the most famous and longest-lived rivalries in American cinema. Its influence of “Tom and Jerry” spread to the world by its vivid scene, positive attitude, and Tom and Jerry is a theatrical animated cartoon which is simply a rivalry between a cat and a mouse, and that somehow is welcome by children and the public. The success of Tom and Jerry is not simply they are funny but with a more complicated form and that is the combination of timing, animation, solid personality of the characters, sound effect and clear understanding of why physical human will never die as comedy god.
They have very solid characteristics: Jerry, an innocent mouse and just want to survive though sometimes he lives in danger along with great fun; Tom, a stubborn, cocky cat who always want to catch Jerry and he is so determined that he never stops. By emphasizing the pain that any character is in and exaggerating the possible into impossible, it works so much better. The more solid the more pain; hence even Tom is been distorted, he still feels solid. In the area they manipulate compliment the way that the item costs the damage. The imprint always leaves on Tom and so that we can connect what we can see. The way that Tom and Jerry do is that the more you feel how solid they the more you feel the pain.
The same can be the sound they make. In early days when they still finding their pitch, Tom and Jerry look more like real life animals and sound more like real life animals. However that is not funny because that is not relatable. The only thing that we will think about when we hear that sound is real life cat getting hurt, and generally nobody will enjoy that.
