One could argue that Julius Caesar is a tyrannical dictator when examining the following three areas of Caesar’s life: he was cocky before his rule began, he grew more and more aggressive as he attained greater success and he was more concerned with power rather than

The Romans were great diplomats. They were firm when necessary and smart about granting citizenship. They also let citizens participate in domestic affairs. Their military was made up of strong, persistent soldiers. If a substantial amount of men were lost in battle they wouldn’t just surrender, but instead recruit new soldiers. They would build up new armies so that they could keep fighting. The Romans were also good strategists. By the year 264 BCE Rome had established colonies in strategic spots throughout Italy. By connecting these settlements with roads, they built a military and communication network that helped them rule more effectively. By getting military help from allies, they mobilized Italy’s military…

While he never actually became a dictator, he showed many of the qualities that describe a powerful dictator. The main aspect of leadership he shows is the opportunity for corruption in people. In Brutus’s words: “He would be crowned. How that might change his nature, there's the question.”(Shakespeare) There is no way to tell what Caesar will become if he does take the Roman crown. Caesar also uses manipulation. During the scene where Caesar refuses the crown, he is manipulating the audience into thinking he doesn’t want the crown and surveying the audience as to whether or not they want him to be emperor. Lastly, he holds himself in high esteem. Quotes like, “I am as constant as the northern star,” (Shakespeare) and “Danger knows full well that Caesar is more dangerous than he.” (Shakespeare) really explore the mentality of Caesar. This narcissistic mentality is something that would show even brighter in a single dictator…

In the time of the ruling of Julius Caesar, all of the Romans loved most of Caesar's qualities. He was a good and popular leader and did a lot for the people. But some Romans had a problem with Caesar and plotted to kill him. These people were Brutus and Cassius. This started a civil war between the Romans. This war may have been prevented if Brutus and Cassius had done things a little differently. Cassius would have made a better leader rather than Brutus. Cassius also had more of a passion to kill Caesar. Brutus did not have the morals of a killer like Caesar did.…

In Julius Caesar the rulers break and bend the rules one after another. I don't think the rulers should be able to break there rules and then tell us not to even if it was for the good of the country. “As a rule, men worry more about what they can't see than about what they can” (Caesar). This quote really gets to the reader because all of the other rulers assumed that Julius Caesar was going to change their country into something that wasn’t good for the people. They were so worries about how they thought he was going to ruin their government that they didn’t look at the positive sides to Julius being a ruler. We have been learning about Julius Caesar in class for weeks and by the time you get done reading this essay you might agree with me. After you get done reading this you will gain more knowledge about giving one man so much power for one country can cause so much trouble. Julius Caesar and Brutus did not agree on the future government of Rome so Brutus ultimately killed Caesar. I disagree, Julius Caesar was a powerful man that was seen as a threat, brutus didn’t agree with having Rome as a dictatorship, and in result Brutus kills Caesar in fear of Rome falling apart and only to become a…

Leaders are everywhere in our world. They constantly surround us and tell us what to do. Leaders have shaped our history and are constantly shaping our future. Some excellent examples of good leaders are Adolf Hitler and Julius Caesar. We might not agree with some of the policies that Hitler performed, however, we can conclude that his excellent leadership skills allowed him to effectively govern about 69 million citizens. Caesar’s quick and decisive personality granted Caesar the title, Dictator, of the Roman Empire. Under Caesar’s rule, the Roman Empire vastly expanded its borders through military annexations. But, with all things foretold, what designates someone the power to lead people? There are several factors that bring about a good leader. The three main factors incorporate communication, confidence, and commitment. Anybody that decides to encompass these factors, will not only be a good leader, but they will also be an effective and a revolutionary leader.…

“Alea iacta est”. With those words Julius Caesar crossed the River Rubicon in northern Italy and forever changed the history of the world. Rolling the die was exactly what Caesar was doing when he decided to challenge the authority of the Roman Republic that until now he had served. While it is easy to give specific dates as to when the government shifted to Caesar’s ‘Dictator for Life’ role, as well as for when his nephew Octavian (Augustus) received his new name and new titles of Caesar/Emperor of Rome, Princeps, and others. These are often seen as the death roughs of the Roman Republic, as if the republic had been strong and united and that out of nowhere it suddenly came to an end.…

    Julius Caesar Leadership

A dictionary definition of a leader is a guiding hand in a movement or group. My definition of a leader is someone who stands out amongst the rest and steps up to the task and helps the “followers” advance and strive to become a leader as well. The only way a leader can be effective is by leading by example. A prime example of this is Malala Yousafzai. She was shot in the face for trying to go to school. If she hadn’t gone to school she wouldn’t have been shot, but she also wouldn’t have a Nobel Peace prize. She is now using her story to speak for access to education for everyone. A leader is someone who leads by example and uses their skills to help others succeed.…

Caesar has always been seen as one of the greatest warlords of all time. He’s right up there with Alexander the Great. Many describe him as incredibly bold in that he took risks that no other would have thought to take. He took every opportunity that showed a glimmer of success even when his comrades doubted him. An example of how Caesar was reckless was going to war with his enemies even when they weren’t ready. Another is when his forces and he went to face Helvetti he ordered them away to show that he would run the same risks he would. A leader leads by example.…
