How Significant was the Treaty of Versailles to Germany The Treaty of Versailles was significant to Germany after World War 1 in many ways. It was significant for it to make the war end from Germany. Germany hated the loss of their land from other countries. They thought that the treaty was unfair, because they didn’t like what it was about. They hated reparations from France and Britain trying to starve the children there. They hated their army, because it was small, but powerful and they tried to get more people to war.

They wanted France and Britain to pay up for Germany, but instead they refused to pay until after 1921. They wanted to get more people in their army, because it was useless against other countries, because they didn’t
have a lot of people in their army. They thought that the Treaty of Versailles was trying to destroy their economy. They had to sign the treaty or that they will be invaded by their allies. They knew that other countries wanted Germany to take the blame for the war. Germany knew that other countries wanted them to pay for the losses of their family members and their damages. So, Germany had to pay 6,600 million pounds for the losses of Britain and other countries during the war. Other countries wanted to punish Germany for their losses several times so it won’t start another war. They didn’t agree with the 14 points that the US President made, because they thought that it was unfair and that it would make other countries furious, because they also did not agree with the 14 points, too. Germany’s military plan was that they had 10 planes, 7 warships, and 50,000 men to war. The German’s had powerful weapons that they used in the war. They had machine guns that had the fire power of 100 guns, they had chlorine gas that would burn the throat and hurt the chests of their opponents, they had a Zeppelin, which was an airship that carried machine guns and bombs, they had tanks that could carry 10 men and had a revolving turret that could reach 4mph, they had planes that were used for spying work and to deliver bombs and that they were carrying machine guns, bombs and times cannons, they had torpedoes that were used by submarines and they were used to blow up ships carrying supplies from America to Britain, they had rifles that would carry 15 rounds that would be fired in a minute and a person 1,400 meters away to kill their opponent.
Germany lost all its colonies and had to pay for other nations for damages and lost some of their territories. They wasted a lot of money trying to pay for the lost lives of peoples and to pay for the damages for the countries that Germany went to war with. Germany’s territory that it had lost had to give it’s territory to Belgium and Denmark, but most of them went to war. They had also lost their Chinese ports Pacific Islands, and African colonies during the war. The treaty said that Germany was not allowed armored vehicles, submarines, or aircrafts. It said that the German’s navy could only build to 6 battleships only. Germany’s overseas empire was taken away controlled now by the league of nations. 12% of Germany’s population became citizens of other countries. They were
forbidden to link with Austria. They hated Clause 231, they said that they were to to blame for the war. It did not harm Germany, but it hurt their pride. They were not in with the League of Nations, because of the treaty that they signed. They couldn’t start another war, because they didn’t have a lot of money. They had to sign the treaty, because they had no other option either to get invaded by their allies or not. Germany didn’t have a choice for the blame of World War 1, but they had to take blame for it. It’s army was limited to 100,000 men and the treaty restricted the Navy to vessels under 100,000 tons. They were not able to give off a submarine fleet or an air force, because of the treaty that they have signed to stop the war. They thought that the treaty was unfair, because they didn’t know that Wilson’s 14 points were in it and that they had not been asked to Versailles. They did not agree to Clause 231, because they didn’t believe that it was true, they said that Russia had started the war, that’s why they didn’t agree. They nearly lost %90 of their gold mines from the war. Their people even thought that Germany was not responsible for World War One, but they had to take the blame for it since they had already signed the treaty that made World War One end. Their own people felt that Germany had not been defeated from the war. They had agreed to a ceasefire in 1918. From the war, Britain lost 750,000 soldiers were killed during the war and 1,500,000 of their people were wounded, for France, 1,400,000 of their own people were killed during the war and 2,500,000 were wounded during the war, for Belgium, 50,000 of their own people were killed, for Italy, 600,000 of their men were killed during the war, for Russia, 1,700,000 of their men were killed during the war, for America, 116,000 of their own men were killed during the war, for Germany, 2,000,000 of their own people were killed during the war, for Austria-Hungary, 1,200,000 of their own men were killed during the war, for Bulgaria, 100,000 of their own men were killed during the war. The total men who was killed in all during the war was 8.5 million with 21 million people wounded during the war.
