Why We Should 6th Graders Be Able To Play Sports
I believe 6th graders should be allowed to play Jr. High sports. This allows them to learn more about the sports they choose to participate in. If you live in a small town this may be a good option for you (or whoever is in charge of sports) to consider. Allowing 6th graders to participate in Jr. High sports provides many advantages to your team, your school, and yourself. It benefits your team by allowing them to have a higher number of players; it benefits your school by having more parents come to watch their children play; and it also allows you to have a higher understanding of the sports you choose to attend. I understand why people don’t agree with allowing 6th graders to play sports. Some say it is too dangerous, or that they

I am here to explain and demonstrate why I think that kids should join the youth sport leagues. Kids or any other aged person will use their knowledge on sports in the future, like leadership on leading the sports team. Not just that but sports will have a change on the kid or any aged person on dealing with problems like, a team having the upper hand because of their strength, age or experience which cases the team to strategize a plan, so not just the body gets exercise but the brain too. Each kid should do sports or in this case join the youth sports league, though I do not just advise this for the kids but for any other person with a different age, but even though this is just for the young kids there are still other places you can…

“Children Need to Play, Not Compete” by Jessica Statsky is an explanation as to why children sports need to be less competitive. The stress of winning seems to be getting worse and worse as time goes on. Children are losing the love for sports because the fun is slowly but surely being taken away. Statsky states that, “even when children are not injured, fear of being hurt detracts from their enjoyment of the sport.” There are also psychological issues, which shouldn’t be a problem children have to deal with. Sports should be somewhat of an outlet, an escape for children to enjoy themselves apart from their everyday life, not an added stress. As Statsky ads, “Winning and losing may be an inevitable part of adult life, but they should not be a part of childhood.” Childhood is a time for making memories, participating in things that make children happy, and enjoying their time. Instead of stressing about winning, practicing, losing, making the team, and getting hurt, children should purely be having fun playing the sports that they love.…

One may be worried that a child may be left out by the coach or the other teammates ("Pros and Cons of Youth Sports Participation). According to Philips, children make more friends and build stronger relationships with teammates and the coaches rather than being left out (Philips 26). Injuries also play a big part in why so many people do not play sports at a young age. Actually, having this physical activity helps strengthen bones and muscles, which help make injuries happen less. People also believe that children will have too much organization because of having to listen to the coach all of the time instead of making one's own decisions and mistakes. Organization is good for younger kids because if there is no organization at all everyone will be out of control and not knowing what to do ("Pros and Cons of Youth Sports Participation"). Even though there are many things that could happen to children playing sports, there are always ways that one can do to prevent…

“School should be about learning, not sports”. Kids now a days love to play sports, but don’t like to learn. Learning, and get an education this is a very important thing in life you need it to have a good job so that you can have a family and support them. So I feel in school you must have good grades in order to play any type of sport, and if you do not then you should not be playing. A couple reasons I feel like this is for starters kids pay more attention to sports then they do in class. This is not how this should be. Kids should love to learn something new every day at school, but in some school that’s not the case. Kids need to learn.…

Sports keep teens well behaved at school and in class. Sports reduce the number of fights, and bad classroom behavior. In order to play any sport in high school, the students must make good grades. If they fail to make the grades, then they are either dismissed from the team, or they must take a study hall before each practice for at least 30 minutes, sometimes even for the whole day until his or her grade comes up to a passing grade. In most high schools, there are problems with attendance from the students. If a player does not come to school, then they may not go to practice or attend the game that…

Some people may say that having athletics in high school may take attention away from school. Some may say that it help kids be more focused on school and not on other negative things. Many people don’t think that middle school sports are important, but I’ve come to realize that, that is simply not true, for middle school sports keep you active, and if you have bad grades you can’t play your game, so it also motivates you to work hard in school. Sports also give you a hobby if you have a lot of time on your hands that you don’t know with. Middle school sports also are a learning experience if you have never played the sport and would like to learn how to play. They are great for practicing for high school and most of the programs at Height provide opportunities to move to higher levels of the sport by finding out of town teams you can play to improve your abilities.…

These are many ways why we should have more sports here at Monticello Trails. It would be a great way to get more kids active, healthy, and do better in school. Adding in new sports will get more kids involved and play a sport that they will enjoy playing. Most schools only have football and basketball, so adding sports like soccer will allow kids who like that sport to play. Sports can be very good for students physically, and academically which would be good…

Activities and sports in schools is a great way for students to be involved, and to be active. I have done research and there hasn’t been one article I found on why sports shouldn’t be in schools. Having athletic programs and activities in schools are very helpful for students health, it develops team work, helps develop discipline and also perfection. School administrators, and parents, generally support high school activity programs because of the positive effect these activities appear to have on students of both genders. (Braddock P.1)…
