Why We Should Not Have School Hours
School is stressful enough with all the school work, plus needing to take care of responsibilities at home. Adding more hours would be agitating for kids. I strongly believe adding hours to school would be completely pointless. To begin with, kids have chores at home to do. They are responsible for completing them as well as homework. Also, children can be severely stressed and overwhelmed of all the school work. Finally, if the school board adds more hours to a school day, kids will have less time to enjoy life. As can be seen, there are many reasons to not add hours to a school day. First of all, everyone has responsibilities in life. kids have to deal with chores such as cleaning their room, wash the dishes, feed the dog and much more. Plus they have assignments for a variation of classes. If people have a job on top of everything else, kids will probably not get a lot of it done. …show more content…
If kids do not finish their chores or complete their homework. They will more than likely get yelled at by their parents. If children do not finish school work their grades will drop dramatically. Kids can become depressed when having so many responsibilities to complete. They will not have time to talk to anyone or do the things they want to do. which will make them extremely sad. All in all, school gives children anxiety and it can be very stressful. last but not least, by adding more hours to a school day kids will have less time to be free, to do anything they would like. They will have very little time to talk with friends out of school. Kids want to go places with their friends and family to have fun. However, they can not experience this if all they have to do is worry about schoolwork. The less time children has, the less they will enjoy life and school. They will not wanna a job with lots of work. As I have stated, people will not enjoy life if all we have to do is work all the

I believe that school should stay the way it currently is. With school the way it currently is students still have time after school. Students will still have time for sports after school and other school related functions. If school started later in the day and ended later students wouldn't have hardly any time after school for things such as sports, socializing, and spending time with there families. After students get up early for a week or so they would get used to it and their bodies would adapt to the change.…

School is the last place a teenager wants to be at. No one likes to wake up at the crack of dawn every morning sit in a desk for seven hours, and learn the facts of life. School is probably the only word that can make any kid cringe at, but recent researchers have learned that having a later school start time can improve major problems students are having. Including, stress, sleep deprivation, mood swings, harmful behavior, and academic skills. In a report it says, ¨ Delaying school start times by one hour improves standardized test scores by at least two percentile, one in math and the other in reading.¨(“ Do Schools begin too early”).…

It would be bad idea to add an extra one an half hour because there would be no time for extracurricular activities, older siblings wouldn’t be able to get their younger brother/ or sister off the elementary school bus, and schools would have to provide a snack for the children because it would interfere with families early dinner time. Can the school afford this? It is very important for families to have family time because families should have a strong bond. Also, kids should have time to get out their energy and have fun instead of learning for nine hours a day. Here are my reasons on why the School Board should not change school hours.…

This would mean students would not be able to do activities they enjoy like; sports or clubs since students would be released from school later. To add, if students do not get at least some free time, it can impact their mental health causing them to get even more overwhelmed. Additionally, school employees, like teachers, would have to stay on the job longer. Having them stay on duty longer could affect their family schedule. To clarify, there would be no interruptions with a person's free time of non scholastic activities. An illustration would be having to work overtime and not get to spend your own time. Many students are involved in extracurricular activities such as sports, clubs, and participate in other organizations.
