Do you really even know which products use animal testing? Your toothpaste from Colgate and Oral-B, your deodorant from Dove and Lynx and your makeup from MAC and Clinique: all animal tested products. Some of Australia’s most used brands use animals to their advantage when there are other modern methods of testing products that are much more reliable. The unnecessary and unreliable experiments on animals should be banned. Dogs, cats, mice and rabbits are blinded, burned, poisoned and killed in painful experiments. Although brands and companies don’t use animals for testing here in Australia, it is still legal. Unfortunately it will be a tough challenge to stop international cold hearted companies from experimenting on animals overseas. However, by only buying products that are known to not use animal testing or looking out for the symbol of a leaping bunny -the internationally known symbol for cruelty free products- is a good way for Australia to fight animal testing. It’s time that the world uses more accurate and humane ways to test products opposed to destroying the lives of innocent animals. Animals are not ours to
