In act V scene iii the family feud dies. One quote is “some shall be pardoned, and some punished” (V.iii 326). Since the feud was the whole reason this debacle happened that makes this act the most important because the feud would not have ended without this. In this scene Mercutio gets killed tempting Romeo to kill Tybalt which gets Romeo banished. But in this scene the feud is actually strengthened, this is because the scene just made the two families hate each other more. In the text Lady Capulet said “Of my dear kinsman! Prince, as thou art true, For blood of ours shed blood of Montague” (III.i 111-112). Lady Capulet is specifically asking the prince to kill one of the Montagues. Now I can see why people would say act III scene I is the most important scene. Because if it had not happened, than Romeo would not have been banished and Juliet would not have pretended to die. But if act V scene iii did not happen than Romeo and Juliet would have never died. Also the feud would not have ended. The most important scene in Romeo and Juliet is act V scene iii. in my essay I explained why this scene is the most important and how Juliet and Romeo dying proved that.
