Why Writing Is Important To Me

Reading and writing are very important because you will have to use them in the world. Schools teach you about reading and writing at a young age. The reason reading is important is because you will have to basically read everything you see. Writing is important because you will have to write for a job. My reading and writing have changed from liking to read and not liking to read because of things I experienced with reading, but my writing experience has always been nice for me because of all the practice I have had with writing, but I do have a few bad experiences with writing. When I was younger I used to love to read. My mom is a big reader in our family. I started to not like reading when I got older because I felt like reading was not for me. Another reason I don’t like read is because I never understood what I was reading. Now I read when I feel like reading. Ever since I got older my reading has changed from a love to hate relationship. When I was in third grade the school I was going to wanted to put me back into second grade because of my test scores. When my mom found out they wanted to put me back in second grade she fought for them not to put me back
in second grade. Instead of them putting me back into second grade they gave me an IEP instead. Once they decided not to put me back in second grade my mom started to force me to read and give her reports on what I read. When I got into eighth grade I had a teacher named Mrs. Rockerfield who taught me that I should read books that keep me interested instead of reading books that people make me read. She also taught me how to annotate while reading; from here on out I have a better understanding about what I read. My writing has always been a good experience for me because I’ve been practicing my writing since I was in sixth grade. One thing I’m good with writing is making a good thesis statement. When I was in sixth through high school I always had a paper that I had to write. My writing has gotten better throughout the years. I also know how to make the paper flow when I write a paper. When I have to write a paper for college it’s not so hard for me because of the practice I’ve had writing. I have learned a lot more about writing since I came to college. My professor from last semester helped me out a lot with my writing. Professor Helperiness should me step by step on how I should write. She also taught me how I should take some time with my writing and not just throw something together and not have time to think about what I really want to put down on paper when writing, and she also taught me how I should put my ideas on paper before I start writing. The biggest problem I have with my writing is how to make a good conclusion, good details, and not looking over my paper before turning it in. When I write I have a problem with my conclusion is because I don’t know how I should wrap up my thesis statement without repeating things already said in my thesis. I also have a problem with making sure I have good details so people can understand what I’m writing. Another problem I have with my writing is that I don’t looking over my own writing before I turn it in. I will write my paper and have someone else look over it, but I don’t take my time with looking it over myself. My experience with reading is kind of harmful for me as a college student because I don’t like to read as much, but I do get the work done.
My writing experience is good for me because I have done so many papers to prepare me for college. My reading experience for the future will get better because I will have to read to children in my daycare. It will also get better in my future because I will be teaching children how to read. My writing in my future will be greater than it is now because I will have to write letters for my daycare. It will also get better because I will make sure that I look over my work before I hand things in. My reading and writing will start to process over the years so I can get better than I was before and so I can have an impact on other people also about reading and
writing.
