Why I Am Against Abortion
Robert Pittman October 20, 2011 Period 1 Expository Writing Today a very controversial issue is abortion; it might be one of the most talked about things right now. People don’t know whether or not they are “Pro-Life” or “Pro-Choice”. I’m going to discuss why it is wrong to be all out Pro-Choice. In my opinion I believe in some situations it is okay to be Pro-Choice and sometime’s that may be your only option. Although, through my research I found a lot of information which made me have to side with the Pro Life side and be against abortion. From reading an article on how students have a Silent Day too fight against abortion I have learned a whole lot. In the article students were saying once they explained on iPads and articles since they couldn’t talk why they were Pro-Life, students had begun to join their side and take on abortion. Some student stated that they brought a whole roll of ductape too school, and after a day of explaining they had ran out so many people had joined their side. This show’s a lot of people are Pro-Choice just because they have no idea about the other side, they just know what they hear from other people not all the details. Throughout the day teachers were rolling their eyes at students, giving dirty looks, making smart comments, and harassing them. Good thing that didn’t make the students give up, because according to the author her generation killed over 53 million dead babies; which is ridiculous. The author was ashamed by that huge number, which is another reason she wants to put an end to this. The author also said “Those in the abortion industry might want to think about going back to school and finding a new career because yours is going to end. Mark my words: We will end child killing and abortion will be abolished; the author is very confident. Reading Marcus Fryman’s reasons for being Pro-Life, gave me even more of the reason to be against abortion. One point he made was

Imagine a young child at the playground, slipping down a slide, swinging on the monkey bars, and laughing with glee. When a mother decides to get an abortion, that entire image goes away with a blink of an eye. What that mother might not know is her child might be the next person to cure cancer or be the greatest movie star of all time. The public is divided on this issue and they do not know if one should be pro-life or pro-choice. People that believe in pro-choice think the decision should be up to the mother. It is the mother’s body and she should have the right to decide what happens to it. However, every life matters and the child should not be in the cross fire of the mother’s decision. Abortion violates the child’s right to live and…

One of the most controversial issues today is the topic of abortion. For many years people have been debating over whether abortions should be legal or not. There are two sides to this debate. Those who are pro-choice, do not think that a fetus is a living human being yet with a right to live. They believe it is entirely up to a woman to choose what she does with her own body (Being Pro-Choice). Those people who are pro-life argue otherwise. They believe that abortion is wrong and should be made completely illegal. I am one of them people who are pro-life. Having an abortion is the same as killing another human. It is inhumane, it is a sin,…

Finding structured, well-thought-out arguments relating to abortion proves rather troublesome. An anti-abortion paper especially usually carries with it the refrain “Abortion is murder!” perennial in slightly alternative ways. (One cannot facilitate however see irony in pro-lifers complaints that pro-choosers caricature and quarrel them, once the standard of the many of their essays suggests they're caricatures and polemicists.) A distressing share of those anti-abortion essays are written by Christian-private-school-educated ladies, WHO is solely capable of parroting, no matter anti-abortion info was fed to them. Conversely, pro-choice arguments usually assume abortion could be a woman’s right, and so proceed from there. It will play some terribly frustrating reading.…

There are many arguments against abortion claiming how unethical it is. Three of those arguments are the following: First, it has been proven that embryos bond to their mother during the first trimester or early in the second trimester (Fletcher pg.3). Second, a mother that has terminated her pregnancy early on has not had adequate time to think about her decision (American Life League 136). Finally, not only is the mother killing that one person, but she is also killing every other human being that would have existed due to that baby being born. (Ronald Reagan Speech-1983) When a person has this point of view towards abortion there is only one option, not having an abortion. Pro-lifer's feel abortion is morally wrong, and that is equivalent to the murder of a living, breathing human…

There are hundreds of social problems in the USA today and one of the most complicated is abortion. Abortion is so complicated because it affects a woman’s body, causing it to be a very personal and emotional issue, but at the same time because it is affecting a future American citizen, it becomes a problem that America as a society has to deal with. This causes America to be split into two sides, one side claiming that it should be the woman’s choice since they think it affects the woman alone and the other side claiming that it affects society as a whole and can’t be left to the woman alone to decide. The later position would seem to be the accurate claim considering the fact that over 50 million babies have been aborted in America since…

Abortion has been a heavily debated political, ethical, and moral dispute continuing for more than a decade after it was legalized in the United States in January 22, 1973. This decade long debate between “pro-life” activists and “pro-choice” activists usually stem from ones ethical and moral values of whether it is right to surgically or medicinally terminate a fetus and the extremes, like death of the mother, which could occur from the pregnancy. In this debate, I would view myself as a “pro-choice” activist because I firmly believe that abortion should continue to be legal to decrease the number of unintended mothers, broken or single parent families, and family poverty.…

Abortion is an on-going debate throughout the United States. Americans divide 50% as pro-choice and 44% on pro-life. (Saad, 2015) Majority of women side with pro-choice, and being a woman myself, I stand with pro-choice. I believe that it’s an individual’s right to decide what they’re doing to their bodies, and no one else should be allowed to deny them of said right. There are many different reasons as to why someone would get an abortion. Whether it be from results of rape, birth control failure, teen pregnancy, or whatever the case may be, every abortion is thought out and no option is an easy option.…

    Why Abortion Is Immoral

    • 491 Words
    • 2 Pages

Why Abortion Is Immoral was written by Don Marquis. His thesis is described in the title. He started off by establishing some historical facts about abortion. According him there were no laws prohibiting abortion in the United States until well into the 19th century. By the 20th century every state passed laws to prohibit it. In 1973 in the case Roe vs. Wade, the Supreme Court ruled that the laws outlawing abortion violated women’s rights to privacy. He then implies that the legal status of abortion could possibly change in the near future. Marquis believes that the crucial moral question about abortion is “Do we have the same reasons not to kill a fetus that we have not to kill an adult?” He believes it’s wrong because it deprives them of their future. According to Marquis, abortion is seriously immoral with rare exceptions.…
