Why I Chose Business Accounting to Secure My Future

While I have never had a career in my life I have had many jobs throughout the years. Throughout my life I have learned there is a great difference between having a job and having a career. Business accounting is my opportunity to follow a dream and work toward having a career. Business accounting can be a very lucrative and fulfilling career. Through business accounting you can learn constantly and find a job in various fields because almost every workplace requires an accounting department. My dream is to own my own business and business accounting is going to help me to reach this goal. Business accounting will teach me the inner workings of a business as well as many other skills to manage a business and my personal finances. Business accounting is my chance to do something I love, manage money and help others. Business accounting can be a very profitable profession, for a person with integrity, who is willing to focus on continuing their education.
To be an accountant a person has to possess certain traits to be successful. I strongly believe I have what it takes to be a successful accountant. The more successful I am the more money I can make in the business accounting world. An accountant has to be honest and trustworthy. As an accountant you handle many personal documents and the finances for others. “Professional accountants have the responsibility of overseeing and managing financial records. They may also have access to a corporation's petty cash, investments and bank accounts.” (Smith, 2013). Because of this, an accountant has to be able to develop a trusting relationship with many people and maintain this trust and honesty throughout the length of a relationship. There are several others traits an accountant needs. An account needs to have leadership skills. “Accountants may be required to lead teams, oversee projects and enforce company policies.” (Smith, 2013). Business accountants often have
