In the video, the man giving the speech used generalisation by talking about everyone in general. He wasn’t saying his speech specific to a particular person, but in fact he was saying it to everyone.
Emotive Language is strong words used by the Speaker to move the feelings of the listener. We see a strong form of emotive language in the video when the Speaker says “If grace is water, then the church to be an ocean. It’s not a Museum for good people; it’s a hospital for the broken.” By saying that it shows the listener that going to the church is a really important thing, And that going to Church would be a very important thing if you are feeling down or sick because you can find healing and spiritual treatment by interacting with God.
He also uses a very strong emotive Language when he says “Religion Says Do, Jesus says Done, Religion says Slave, Jesus says Son.” That is a very strong emotive language; It makes the listener think that Religion and Jesus are two complete different things; Religion wants to move the people as they wish but Jesus gives His children free will. he uses inclusive language many times in the video. Then, by doing that he could engage the listener with him, because then he is making them think of themselves being in his place. An examples of that would be “… people only know you’re a Christian by your Facebook.”
“See this was me too, but no one seems to be on to me, acting like a church kid while addicted to pornography.”
“…but now that I know Jesus, I boast into my Weakness.” all those examples shows us that he used inclusive languages such as I, me, you, us and we to engage with the listener even more deeper.
Rhyming is a very important technique in the video. Throughout the whole Video, everything sounded the same. It made a very different flavour into the video and made it sound better. Also, makes the listener wanting to listen more from the video
