“Every student is a student of Excellence” Mrs. Richards would say. Although that is true, it does not indicate that every child will demonstrate the performance and lifestyle of a student of excellence. Unlike those who do not exhibit the traits of a student of excellence, I know that I am very capable of being the future, female leader of Cedarbridge Academy’s student body because I am responsible, trustworthy and always well behaved. Good leaders possess the values and morals that will effectively lead any group of people to success. As a leader, the values I demonstrate daily were instilled in me from a child. Over the years I have come to realize that there are some values that I hold dear such as accountability, integrity and respect. Also, trust is one attribute that every leader must possess. Charles Aldrich told a story of a manager who listened to the ideas presented to him by his subordinates and then went to his boss and presented them as his own. He then had all his subordinates fired so that there were no witnesses left. I imagine that he was considered a good leader by both his boss and himself, but such a leader wasn’t trustworthy. I believe that my action as a student of excellence and a leader sets the pace. I am sure that as a committee that has the awesome responsibility of selecting a head girl, you would want to choose someone whose behavior wins trust, loyalty and will ensure the school’s continued success.
Lastly, I carry myself with a lot of pride and dignity because I know that when I walk down the hallway that I am reflecting my family in a positive way. I have been on honor roll since I came to this school and my grades reflect a student who is predestined for greatness. Also, most teachers admire my work ethics, because even thought I may, as all students do, engage in minor conversations during class sometimes, I always complete my assignments at the end of the day.
