New Belgium Brewing Company started out with a simple bicycling through Belgium which also happens to be the home of some of the world’s finest ales. An American electrical engineer named Jeff Lebesch cruised around Belgium on in his fat-tired mountain bike pondering the thought whether or not he could produce the same high-quality beers back home in Colorado. Lebesch went back to his home in Colorado and started experimenting until his beers attained good recognition from some friends and so Lebesch decided to market them. New Belgium Brewing Company opened for business in 1991 as a small basement operation in Lesbesch’s home in Fort Collins but soon out grew that and now has its own custom-built facility. While many view the Scope’s Trial as merely a debate between creationists and evolutionists, it is far more complex than that. It has helped to reinforce stereotypes of both sides, shape how man is viewed, and led to a number of alterations in social and educational spheres. After the Butler Act was passed, the UCLA attempted to recruit teachers to take it to court in the hopes they would finally get their big break. A few citizens in Dayton Tennessee saw an advertisement in a newspaper and decided it would be a good way to gain some publicity for the small town. They asked all of the local Biology teachers, but could not find anyone willing to go to court. Then, they found John Scopes. John Scopes was a football coach who taught general science, who just happened to have filled in for a biology teacher for two weeks. They were able to convince him to go to court, and thus Dayton was put on the map.…
In South Asia during 1880-2005 politics gained an unusual bedfellow. Cricket was introduced to India by Great Britain for a purpose that was widely discussed. Some believed cricket brought their people together and unified different castes and cultures within India and Britain, some believed the sport was just another way for the British to rule over India and appear superior, and others criticized the religious nature present in many of the tournaments. This issue could be better understood by including an article by a British commoner who participated in the Quadrangular Tournament to make it evident that they really did want to spread religion and it wasn’t an overreaction by the Hindus or Muslims. It would also be conducive to include an article written by an Indian ruling elite who was the main source of any sort of political power or political relations with British elites so the reader can get a greater understanding of the actual role of cricket in politics and to experience if there were any conflicts over the solve issue of cricket during political debates.…
As the sun rises up and the street lights turn on, only six more hours until my big game.I felt like my heart was going to explode and burst out of my chest. As I got out of my bed I Felt a cold bitter bitter feeling. So I walked slowly and calmly to the bathroom. After that I had went down stairs to the kitchen and poured a bowl of frosted flankes cereal. While I was putting away the milk my mom said ''why is your hand shaking?'' I said ''It's just too cold'' So after my mom had left I had taken my dogs out for a walk because I had thought maybe if I had just walked a bit I wouldn't be so nervous. As I came back home I had bad feeling that something terrible was going to happen…

I never thought I could be back to the level where I was at before my injury, but I came back both mentally and physically stronger because of my hard work and perseverance to work to become a better player even before my injury. I was motivated to generate the feelings of inspiration and pride when I reached my goal of playing to my full potential on the cricket field.…
I walked off the school bus; it was a beautiful summer day. The sun was shining and the birds were singing, but inside my house it was dark, a cloud had moved over us. I slowly made my way to the door, expecting my mother to greet me but instead my sister opened the door, something was wrong, I knew instantly. When I walked in there sat my three year old little brother playing with his toys in the family room and my parents were sitting on the couch. I looked up at my mom, she had been crying. What is wrong I asked? He is sick my mom said, “Your baby brother is very sick”. I just shrugged my shoulders and walked away, I had been sick before and I got better, so would he.…
The busses were gonna get ready leave and I wasn't ready. As I walked outside the last bus just left. UGHH” Now I have to walk home”. It was so cold outside. I had always been a good child. No matter how much work I had, I did it. Even if I had two hours of homework, you could count on me to help you. Now that I am an adult, I realize what a wonderful childhood I had. I went to a great private school with the best teachers and students. I even had the privilege of having my very own textbooks. Those who weren’t as lucky, had textbooks destroyed by students who had them before they were even born. It might seem like all I cared about was school, but I loved to have fun. I played with my friends all weekend. My favorite activities to play outside were cricket and badminton. I wasn’t that great at cricket, but I was a formidable badminton opponent. In fact, I was so good that my friends refused to play me for fear of losing 21 to 0. When it was too hot during the summer, or too rainy during the monsoon season, my friends and I played card games. I enjoyed playing an Indian card game called “fish”, in which he goal is to get cards in a certain order. Both of my parents worked in offices, so I always got presents on holidays and my birthdays.…
Only now that I know that I could lose you makes me realise how wrong those words were. I was so happy that day. I remember how excited I was to see you at my cricket trials. It was basically everything I have ever dreamed of. A father that came and supported me even just watch and feel proud of me for even a split second.…
It was a warm sunny day, like the ones you would expect in a summer camp; laughter was the melody that filled the air. Everybody was cheerful and enthusiastic, well everybody except one of our counselors. He was very worried, because his sister had been extremely sick, and nobody had been able to heal her. Everybody in my group had told him how sorry we felt for her, but really nobody connected with his situation, so we were not thinking about it. Instead we were immerging our souls into the contentment that was surrounding us. That day while we were acting, everybody was relaxed, focused and happy on what we were doing. We were living in our own little summer bubble. We decided to take a small break, in between the laughs I remember a friend saying “Isn’t it surprisingly amazing how beautiful life can be?”. That was the last sentence said before a cell phone rang and changed the course of the day.…
It began on a hot and humid day as I wore my soccer uniform waiting for my game to start. I was playing in the Mililani Town red dirt, which is so rich like clay that the very touch of any dirt would stain your clothes forever. As I played with other young kids, I was bitten by an army of red ants on my right hand that began to swell enormously. I cried all the way to field where we were warming up for our game. My shoes squeezed tight around my tiny little feet which began to pulsate rapidly. As soon as the whistle blew I peddled my little feet across the field with integrity to win the ball and score. In the distance, I could hear the crowd screaming as I came out of winning the ball from a group of us. I dribbled the ball furiously to the goal and scored my seventh goal only to realize that goal was the wrong goal.…
Little League umpiring is quite different than that of standard umpiring. You are put in a role of authority, often over coaches and fans much older than you that don’t take too kindly to some eighteen-year-old kid making the final calls. You have to know rules to a game with endless possibilities and outcomes where literally anything can happen. You have to be able to make judgment calls on close plays where, if you end up getting it wrong, you’ll get one angry coach running towards you screaming and cussing in your face. But it’s all about being confident, staying focused, making good calls, and keeping a game that everyone there loves flowing smoothly.…
When Ms. first announced our assignment the first day, I had a feeling of excitement. Even though I’m not the best at giving speeches, I still wanted my fellow classmates to know the real me. Because I came from a different background from everyone else, I had a little something to share with everyone about my culture, lifestyle, interests, hobbies, and of course, my all-time favorite sport, Cricket. I went home that day with a million questions for my parents. They told me about my home country and the Indian Punjabi lifestyle that I was unaware of for 18 years; I was extremely fascinated when I found out where I came from and how I would have lived if I was back in India. The dressing style, the music and dance, art, food, rituals and even the daily lives of Punjabis was pretty impressive. My mother showed me old pictures of me when I was small wearing the traditional Punjabi dress but I didn’t want to bring those pictures to class because I thought it would be slightly embarrassing but now I regret; I think it would have been a little more interesting if would! I gathered all my old pictures with my parents and my relatives from India when I was small, along with some from my high school years, and all my cricket gear. It was great looking at old pictures and remembering the past years of my life. However, I was more excited to share my interest for Cricket because it…
