Wife Of Bath Characters
So the question is, what are my three favorite characters from the General Prologue, and I would have to say that there are three that stood out the most to me. The Doctor. The Wife of Bath's, and The Monk. They all have their own personal ways to survive. In this essay I will be talking about my three favorite characters. First of all, I would have to say that the first character that caught my attention was the doctor. He only caught my attention of what is said about him, “He wanted his patients favorable star and by his natural magic, knew what are the lucky hours and planetary degrees.” (pg. 108 ; 425 - 427). He only went at night because he could see the stars. If he knew the client was bad, he’d go out and look at the stars. He knew they were going to die, but he did what he could to get money. He was pretty smart at what he did, so maybe that’s why he was my …show more content…
Her name caught my attention because back in the 1400s, they didn't shower. Her name was Bath and that name is a city, but not just a city, but a city of hot springs. She was considered a middle or lower class because she was a woman and she was always looking for money. “Bold was her face, handsome and red in hue. A worthy woman all her life, what's more she’d had five husbands , all at the church door.” (pg. 109 ; 468 -470). She always brought attention when people found out she had five husbands. But every husband she had, died. She is just a strong lady that catches my attention. Last of all, my least favorite character would have to be the Monk. I only really like this character because he wants to do what he likes. Yes he is a Monk but that doesn’t stop this man from doing what he likes. He doesn’t care for the rules at all. He loves to hunt, fish and most importantly he loves to eat. He is a big man a large mouth. I think the reason why I like him, is only because he is religious but yet he likes to do his own

3.I like the main characters of my novel because all the main characters are the ones who went to the Carving (Mountains) to escape the society and find the rebellion group.I also like how Cassia and Ky take the risk of going out to the Carving knowing that they might be dead or their safe somewhere I can find each other at.They would be my friends because they are very adventurous and they take risks and don't leave their friends behind. When Cassia thinks about leaving the camp she makes up her mind quick because she wants to find Ky but if she thinks long about it she might want to go back to the society.’’If I'm going to run to find Ky,it has to be soon’’, Says Cassia as she thinks about leaving the camp. ‘’Am I going to run? Similarities and differences are easly spotted in a work of fiction. Alot of the time the author will make it very clear what he or she is trying to portray through their similarities and differences. In the Canterbury tales the autthor makes sure that you know that there are alot more differences than there are similarities. For example the Wife of Bath and the Pardoner, they are very different stories but the author seems to tie in their similarities and differences.…

The wife of bath is a very confident woman who, in the prologue of her tale, talks about her five husbands. She seems very satisfied with her life and her choices; she is fulfilled regardless of the men she was married to. Even with all their deaths, she remains happy and independent. “But even now I will strive to be merry.” (Lines 478-479) The story she tells is about a knight who, after he rapes a young girl, is forced by the queen to find out what women desire the most. He finally discovers that what women want the most is to have sovereignty over their husbands. This goes directly along with the character of the wife of bath, who loved the control she had over her husbands more than anything else. The story proves that the answer to what women want the most is not just one static statement. What a person desires most in life depends on their own character and their own…

The character that I identify with most would be Paul Rusesabagina. Paul Rusesabagina was the manager of a Rwandan hotel called the Milles Collines. He tells his story about the genocide in Rwanda during 1994. I picked Mr. Rusesabagina because it is his autobiography and he is telling the story. Also, it’s easy for me to see how the simply rules of being hospitable can save the day.…

The structure of a play shows the overall organization of a story and is very important to help with the understanding of the play itself. The structure is the overall foundation of a story and helps lead the reader towards very important portions of the play. A reader is allowed to maintain a fluid and easy understanding of the play as the story moves on towards the conclusion. Without having a solid foundation the story will not be able to continue and flow correctly. A great example of structure is in “Trifles” by Susan Glaspelli, in which we begin the story by being introduced to the main characters to help unfold a mystery.…
