Implementing Wi-Fi in La Consolasion College Manila Binan Campus
Introduction:
“Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity”
In simple words, Wi-Fi is the wireless way to handle networking. It is also known as 802.11 networking and wireless networking. The big advantage of Wi-Fi is its simplicity. It connects computers anywhere in the organization’s premises without the need for wires. The computers connect to the network using radio signals.
The internet used to be a place where we would go to find information but it is now place where we can collaborate to share knowledge, create and re-create information. We need to ensure that our students have the necessary skills to use technology safely and effectively. With the help of having a wifi connection inside the school would help not just the students themselves but also for the betterment of the institution.
Discussion
Access to mobile technology and the wireless network is in greater demand and is a major component of providing services to students. Student’s works on a lot of group projects, finding spaces that can facilitate a group of students who need an internet connection is increasingly hard to find. As a result, we have to get creative and go wireless, exploring outdoor locations, meeting in common areas, etc. As a result the wifi network is a very valuable tool to help students succeed in their academic studies.
Advantages of Wi-Fi: • •All existing PCs and laptops can easily connect to the wireless network just by adding a wireless device similar to a USB pen drive. • It reduces the costs of further network deployment and expansion. • Spaces where cables cannot be run, such as outdoor areas can host wireless LANs. • There are no license fees. • Wireless LAN is low cost and easy to install.
