Will Rogers, the youngest of eight children, was born on November 4th, 1879 at Rogers Ranch located in Oolagah, Indian Territory. Will Rogers was a descendant of Clement Vann Rogers and Mary Schrimsher, who were both partly Cherokee. From a young age, Will Rogers grew up on his family ranch working with cattle and immediately learned to ride and lasso. He quickly realized his natural talent with a rope and eventually ended up in the Guinness Book of World Records for throwing multiple lassos at once.
