William Howard Taft's presidency (1909 1913) brought much prosperity to America. Throughout the so called "modern era" William Howard Taft brought much to America from 1900 when he was appointed commissioner of the Philippines to his eventual death on March 8, 1930. His political campaign and presidency influenced the progression of the United States throughout
the 1900's to mid 1900's.
William Howard Taft was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended Yale University and graduated second in his class in 1878. After graduation he went on and attended law school. This is where his political life began. Politics was a subject that didn't really excite him until the time he began to attend law school. He was appointed a couple of judge jobs before his break arrived in 1900. In 1900 he was appointed the commissioner of the Philippines and a year later till 1904 he served as governor general of Philippines. Then came his secretary of war occupation under the Roosevelt campaign in 1904 1908. In 1909 he became the president of
the United States of America. The first lady was Helen Taft and the Taft family also consisted of a daughter Helen and two sons in Robert and Charles Taft.
William was appointed to be Roosevelt's carrier or in other words Roosevelt wanted Howard to follow his same policies. Taft did follow them to a certain extent but not enough to please Roosevelt's plans. However the Taft administration was known more for it's failures then anything else, his campaign thrived in it's early going helping the United States prosper.
