William Lutz’s essay, “Life Under the Chief Doublespeak Officer”, describes what a doublespeak is all about and how companies and businesses in America use doublespeak to change the meaning of something or how it can misrepresent the real meaning of words. It is a language that has no real meaning or has more than one meaning and is intended to hide the truth. In the first sentence of the essay, the author reveals that doublespeak is a language that pretends to say something and is misleading.
