The Psychological Breakdown of a Black Man.
“DISTRUST IS STRONGER THAN TRUST AND ENVY STRONGER THAN ADULATION, RESPECT OR ADMIRATION.” – Willie Lynch William “Willie” Lynch is a British slave owner in the West Indies, who came to the United States to advise American slave owners on how to keep their slaves restrained. Lynching or Lynch law is actually attributed to him since it derives from his last name. Lynching initially referred to the hanging of the black man. His main purpose in life is to teach white society how to convert a man into a slave. Willie Lynch’s theory is classified by different categories such as, the economy, “Keep the body, Take the mind”, and “Negro Marriage/Crossbreeding”. In terms of the economy, Willie Lynch did not want any chaos which explains the Horse and Nigger analogy. “For fear that our future generations may not understand the principles of breaking both of the beast together, the nigger and the horse. We understand that short range planning economics results in periodic economic chaos” (Lynch, Cardinal Principles for Making a Negro).When an individual is asked to describe a horse, one would say, bold, fearless, mighty, and powerful. Then there is the black specie. Though socially, mentally, and emotionally oppressed, the black specie has pride to keep them moving forward in life with a positive outlook. White society is intimidated by black people’s courage, so Willie Lynch broke down the black specie spiritually and physically. “Keep the body, Take the mind” is breaking both man and horse from one form of mental life to another. Horses and niggers are no good to the economy in the wild or natural state. Both must be broken and tied together for orderly production. Break the female so she can break her offspring in its early development years and when it is old enough to work, she will deliver the offspring to the white man.
