Abstract
An issue in protecting computing and communication information over wireless internet networks has become more complicated day by day. This paper reviews the necessity of security in wireless networks. We discuss that a lack of secure networks contributes to increase cyber-attacks on both individuals and industries, and describe the technology which is established by the IEEE 802 wireless network standard (WiMAX) to provide high speed of wireless internet within higher standard of security. We will explain the security techniques implemented by 802 wireless network and why it is a more reliable technology than Wi-Fi. Finally, this paper will mention the important future role of the silicon manufacturer to benefit developing the broadband wireless networks.
Introduction
No network is 100 % secure. The idea that someone is possibly able to hack your network and use your credit card information or steal important data from a bank or a company cannot be acceptable. Therefore, the internet network and its security are considered as the most concerned issue in the telecommunication world.
The internet technology can be defined as the world-wide network of interconnected computer networks, and it becomes the most significant basic demand in the world. As the activities of business, industries, and governments on the internet grow, the demand of high speed internet technology consequently increases, and that led to which called broadband communication. Broadband communication means high speed internet technology that offers high bandwidth through wires such as digital subscriber lines (DSL) and fiber optic cables. However, consumers are not only seeking for functionality, but also are looking for usability. So, the wireless-Internet technology turns out to be an important tool to provide a flexible application of using the Internet.
