Wind Energy Research Paper

The two types of energy resources I chose were wind energy and biofuel energy. Wind energy uses turbines which convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. This power can be used for a generator, a generator can convert this mechanical power into electricity to power homes, businesses, schools, and many others. Biofuel energy unlike other renewable energy sources can be converted directly into liquid fuels for our transportation needs usually found from dead plants and animals. Another con is the sound the wind turbines produce a lot of noise. Also construction there are a lot of big trucks transporting the heavy metal to make these turbines which produces more co2 put in the air and harms our environment with global climate change. Lastly would be land your have to use a big area of land to put the wind farms.
Pros of biofuels would be that biofuels can be found from plants and animals wastes and used for fuel. Biofuels then could be almost limitless because there is always plants and animals dieing everyday. Also biofuels produce less greenhouse gasses than other fossil fuels. Lastly it reduces dependence on foreign oils. So we can drift away from buying other oils from different countries.
Cons of biofuels would be the high cost in production they are really expensive to produce. Use of fertilizer when getting biofuels you have to use plants which you have to fertilizer. Fertilizer can have harmful effects on the environment. Also water use you have to use a ton of water for the crops to grow and stay alive. Lastly shortage of food most of the crops used for biofuels are used for a food
