WIND ENERGY WATER PUMP
GROUP1-CIC-4
EFDP2012 Final Report for Water Pump
Group1-CIC-4
Executive Summary In the Anh Minh district of Vietnam, most of the people are using the manual water pump which is hardly to be operated by elders and children, also, it has the low capacity about 1,200 litres per hour. Nowadays, with the increasing number of water demand, the old manual pumps have to be improved or changed to the alternative energy water pump such as the wind power water pump which our team designed for them. Our design offers the easy operation which can be operated by everyone readily and the high capacity. ` The wind power water pump has a higher capacity compared with the manual pump, which can approximately pump 2,400 liters water per hour. It will satisfy the local people’s water demand. Because our design is a fully mechanical product by using the energy from the wind, thus, the expensive electricity will not be used so that the burden for the local people will be reduced. Our design is mainly helping three groups people, the women, children and elders. Due to the difficulties to operate the old manual pumps, those people cannot get the water readily; however, our product will offer them the simple approach to access the water.
The materials we used are major materials in the local area, such as the wood pillar, square timber and PE pipe and so on. All of them have an inexpensive cost and not hard to get the resources from the local area. Meanwhile, all these materials are environmental friendly; they will not produce any pollution which is important to keep the local people healthy. The level of the noise which the windmill produced is approaching to the sound level of the quite bedroom (refer to the information in the chapter 1.4),
