Winn Dixie Character Analysis
Winn-Dixie Summary

The main character is opal, a 10 year old girl with a caring mind. Opal longs to make new friends and see her mother again. She discovers that you can’t hold on to something you love forever you have to let go eventually and also to not judge people by their past but what they are doing now.

It all started when opal went to a grocery store and came home with a dog. it occurred when, she saw a dog running around at the grocery store. The manager was eager to call the pound.But just in time Opal says “no, that’s my dog. Don’t call the pound." So Opal left to go home after finding a dog at random when she was supposed to get groceries.Thankfully she convinces her dad that he was always telling her to help the less fortunate …show more content…
Later on Opal thought Winn-Dixie needed a collar so she went to buy one, but she couldn’t afford one so she got a job at the store, and found out later she was working for a criminal.Opal was going home on an average day and all of a sudden it wasn’t so average.Two neighbors saw her and all of a sudden Winn-dixie started sprinting at another house.Her neighbors told her that the house Winn-Dixie ran into was a witches house.she went in anyway and found out it was an old lady, that became one of her best friends.

This story ends with a party at Gloria dump’s house.Opal encourages all of her new friends.half way through the party, out of nowhere it started to storm.Opal and the rest of the party went inside.Opal couldn’t find Winn-Dixie so she went outside to look She couldn’t find him though.The preacher went looking with her sadly still couldn’t find him.When they finally gave up and went back to the party and there he was sitting on the ground snoring and sleeping.

I conclude that Winn-Dixie is one of the best books I have ever read.I would rate this book 9 out of 10.I was about to stay home from school, but I knew we were going to read Because Of Winn-Dixie so I came to school.that is how good it is. the book was very intriguing and unquestionably appealing.I think you should read

    My favorite part in the book “Because of Winn-Dixie” was the scene when she first met Winn Dixie. She went to the store Winn-Dixie because her dad told her to get food.     The story starts out with one young, not so pretty little girl who is trying to make things right after the death of her father. Young Mattie Ross is a new ear girl in her time. She has a knack of using her voice to get what she wanted from men which is very uncommon in the time period in which this book was written. Most women during this era, did not carry guns, talk so boldly to men, or straddle horses. Mattie Ross is one of a hand full of women that stood out in the crowd and she did things that were uncommon to women in her day (Women of the old west had true grit). Another example is shown after she faces down the killer Tom Chaney. When she goes looking for her hero, Rooster, she finds that he died. She takes his body to her family grave site, as if he was a part of her family. This is one of the greatest honors that can be given to someone. This is “True Grit” at its finest.…
