In Winston-Salem all four seasons are pretty distinct, in the winter months (December, January, and February) there isn’t usually tons of snow like in Vermont but we do average about 8 inches a year. The average high stays around 50°F and the average low is around 30°F. The coolest winter month is January and this is also the month Winston-Salem usually sees the most snow. January averages 3.3inches of snowfall while February is about 2.4inches and December has the least amount at 1.3inches. However, it might not snow much in December, but it does have the most precipitation for a winter month at 3.4 inches with January and February right behind that with inches of 3.2 and 3.3. This is also when temperatures start to warm up for the seasons and range about 60°F-77°F. So, the farther into the year we get, it heats up fast!
