Winter Animal Hospital is a veterinary hospital located in Havana, Florida. The hospital owner is Dr. Greg Winter, DVM who graduated from University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Then in 2000, he built the Winter Animal Hospital. Their veterinary services include class IV laser therapy, diagnostic in-house laboratory, surgery/ anesthesiology, boarding, preventative medicine, microchipping, and more. Winter Animal Hospital is compassionate and they only bring high-quality services.

    Winter pediatric therapy clinic is a great clinic for children who are in need of pediatric rehabilitation services. The three services provided by this clinic are speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. At this facility, I had the opportunity to observe clients who had language and articulation disorders. The first client I observed was a 20 year old adolescent with Autism who was nonverbal. To facilitate his way of communication, he used the Saltillo Novachat 8 (SN8), which is a communication system that offers Chat software on an Android platform. The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for this client used common sentences provided by his mother to help him communicate better at home. The SLP said these sentences aloud and the client was instructed to use the device to repeat those sentences. The second client I had the opportunity to observe is a 4 year old boy who had an articulation disorder. For this client the SLP used drill play to teach him new ways of producing the /b/ sound. The third client was a 4 year old boy with Autism and he was nonverbal. The therapy session for this client consisted of playing different games of his interest to help improve his communication skills. Modeling and using a great variety of gestures were effective during this session.…

    Good afternoon, my name is Saeed Graham and today I’ll be presenting on the topic of the use of animals in medical research. An article will be disputed in an attempt to convince you that animals SHOULD be used in medical research. Kelly Overton posits the article “Stop Animal Testing – It’s not just cruel, it’s ineffective” in the Baltimore Sun. As is evident from the title of the writing, Mr. Overton is of the opinion that the use of animals for medical testing be desisted on the basis of its ineffectiveness and inhumanity. However, I will attempt to dissect (no pun intended) the his argument to illustrate the flaw of his position. I have here three excerpts for his article. The first point basically attempting to class animal medical testing as a complete failure, the second conveying that humans are too different from animals to be used to make proper inferences, and the third, a solution or alternative to the use of animals for testing. Background research however revealed that Mr Overton is the executive director of People Protecting Animals and Their Habitats (PATH) in Cambridge, Mass; an animal conservation and protection group. The fact that he holds such a prominent position in this organization (executive director) was cause for a little speculation regarding a possible latent agendas. Probably a potential for financial gain in arguing the position that he did maybe? Mr Overton’s perspective on this controversial issue therefore reflects that of his affiliate. Debates regarding the use of animals in the acquisition of medical insight antedate the 17th century, a period where vivisections (vivus; Latin for living and section meaning cutting) prior to the genesis of anesthesia aroused the opposition of many who considered the practice barbaric. Presently, those who foster support for the discontinuation of animal testing have diversified their argument beyond that of those proposed centuries ago.…

    “We should never abandon the animal once we rear them.” This is the most profound and emotional feeling that I acquired from last summer. One early morning, my grandma went to a park to exercise as usual. She met the newborn kitten again which she had been fond of for a few days. Grandma watched the strayed kitten playing with her mother and she found that it was so adorable. She just grabbed the kitten and then put it into a paper bag and brought it home. I was astonished when I found out there was a little thrilling cat hiding at the corner of the balcony. Hustling for a while, I placated the kitten and told grandma that she shouldn’t have done this. We struggled about whether we should put her back or not, but finally, we decided to keep it, thinking that we at least could help one stray cat though I felt extremely guilty and sorry to her mother. I gave her a name “PardPard”. She used a couple days to adapt her new environment and I totally loved her. However, a few weeks later grandma didn’t find her adorable anymore because of the troublesome rearing works. She wanted to send PardPrad to a shelter and I begged her not to do that. Unfortunately, she still sent her to the shelter secretly when I was not at home. My heart was torn apart and I was utterly frustrated. Trying to remedy, I found the address of the shelter and pick my darling PardPrad back. No one in the family wanted to keep the kitten anymore, in fact, they prohibited it. I tried my best to combat and even only let her move around my room. That was really a hard time. Pathetically, PardPard died a few days later from getting back to home from the shelter. She was confirmed infected with “Feline Panleukopenia”.…
