Once inside Winter’s Hall, Harper ran straight out to the yard to check on her new kitten to find Kiyaya had got there first.
Harper rushed over to the dumpster but Kiyaya stopped her. Harper could tell from his gestures he wasn’t telling her good news about the kitten.
Harper didn’t hear Saskia enter yard until she spoke. “Hello! You looking for yer kitten? Tough luck, the Director had it removed by animal control earlier, he said it was too near the kitchen and could bring in fleas and whatnot…”
Kiyaya looked at Harper and nodded in agreement at Saskia’s announcement. Saskia didn’t wait for a response from Harper before she continued. “…thing is…the animal control guy was saying New Detroit has a home for stray dogs but not cats so the

The overall structure and plot of the story plays a part in how Wolff viewed his own life within the characters. It opens with a simple yet intriguing statement: "Tub had been waiting for an hour in the falling snow" (Wolff 1). Immediately, this hook does its job drawing the reader into the story and making him wonder what is going on. In the same paragraph we find that Tub is walking down the street, carrying a rifle and seemingly, shooting the breeze. But then a car comes from nowhere, nearly killing Tub and forcing him to leap off the roadside. Inside the truck, Tub's friends, Kenny and Frank, wait laughing at the apparent "joke" that they had just played. Tub doesn't seem quite as amused, stating, "You could've killed me!" (Wolff 5). Then, the three friends begin to make their way towards the woods to go hunting for…

The Story i choose was 'Winter Dreams' by F. Scott Fitzgerald, It takes places in Minnesota in the 1920's. The main character is named Dexter and he is a caddie for the summer. I think the time period and weather plays a big part of the story. it gives the reader an imagery in their minds and sets the story. the time period also does the same thing. Dexter's start as a caddie has a big impact on his life goals, it eventually leads to his inner conflict to not be ''middle class.''…

Lisa See‘s Snowflower and the Secret Fan grabbed my attention from the start. BLily the main character of the book, is very much like me and yet, in some ways, very different. Lily and Snowflower experience many Chinese traditions together. Both Lily and I work very hard to achieve our goal. We both have good old friends we can support, love and share our feelings with. Winter camping can be very difficult. In the story The Iceman Campeth, the men kept a positive attitude throughout the process of building the quinzee hut. When doing winter camping you must require many abilities and needs. It is very important that you meet the standards of physical needs. Physical needs include air, food, water, shelter, and warmth. Requiring the physical needs are especially important during winter camping. In my opinion, the most important ones for are warmth, water, and food. I feel warmth is the most important because in the story he mentions how it is around 10-15 degrees, when it is this cold you should make sure to stay warm and wear layers. Another ability they demonstrated in the story was self actualization. Self…
