Proposal Number: NEW-WIRELESS-TECH-01-20-2014
This proposal introduces two wireless technologiesy that will benefit Party Plates. Wireless technologies will increase productivity by allowing portability and decreased response time. The two technoligiestechnologies proposed are smart phones and WifiWi-Fi. Outlined below are the pros and cons of each recommended technology as well asand the justification for choosing these information systems to improve the effeciencyefficiency function of the organization.
Pros for Smart Phones: Smart phones are portable, offer flexibility, and increase efficiency. With a portable work smart phone there is no waiting for someone a person to get back to their desk phone to get an answer to an important question (Frye, 2012). According to the Frye (2012) website employees were asked in a survey why they chose to use a smart phone to run a work application instead of a computer. and theThe answers were unanimously that they could run the application from any location. I, which means if they were are out on a jobsite with a customer the employeey could still have access to their work and be productive with their workload. Currently employees out on jobsites are unable to get any work done unless they hook up to the customer’s mainframe to gain access to our systems. and many Paper ccopies of written orders and invoices may be lost in the paperwork. Issuing a Party Plates employees a smart phone allows our employees to increase productivity, decrease cost (paperless system), and bill electronically. d
