Most people think that witches are ugly, mean, and against christianity, but have you ever studied about witches. I got the chance to study witches, and what I found out is nothing what we thought. Knowledge as we know it can be a very devastating thing and we should really consider how our actions will change based on this knowledge. If our actions would not change what is the purpose of this knowledge.
People think that witches are ugly because people think that witches have warts, square feet, and bad complex because that is what disney or Hollywood wants us to think. Nobody thinks witches look like regular people. We think witches have special features about them, but that doesn't exactly true. A woman named Susan Boyd …show more content…
For example, many people in southern Europe and the Near East fear a power called the evil eyes. This power enables witches to cause harm or bring bad to others by merely looking at them. According to another superstition, a black cat brings bad luck if it crosses a person’s path. This superstition came from the belief that every witch had a personal demon called a familiar. Many familiars, which lived with and served their witches, existed in the form of a black cat or some other animal.”
There is this problem that christianity also has a huge role in this because quotes in the bible, and people studies. I am going to quote four scripture from the bible, and then elaborate on them. The first one is from the Ten Commandments, “thou shall not kill”, Exodus (20:13). Okay with being said in the same chapter Exodus (22:18-19), “You shall not let a sorceress to live. Therefore he who resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath upon the one who practices evil.” This states that We realize that God was giving the Israelites a command to take this action. This is not murder. This action is not the result from a passion of the heart, but an act of obedience to God. Now if someone desires a person to die because of some crime the person did or because – as in this case – the person is a sorceress, that does not make God’s command wrong. It is the person’s heart which is wrong. God commanded governing authorities to administer the death penalty for certain crimes. This was not murder, but the taking of life to carry out
