The witches represent the evil side of things from the beginning when they call for something wicked, Macbeth shows up. “ I conjure you by that which you profess, answer me. Though you untie the winds and let them fight against the churches, though the yesty waves confound and swallow navigation up.” (Act 4, scene 1,50-54) Macbeth knows that they are evil and do these kinds of things but still wanted the truth of their prophecies. The witches summon him horrible apparitions upon Macbeth. Because Macbeth asked the witches he now is the victim of them.

If it wasn’t for the witches prophecies, Macbeth would still be alive. The witches never intended to do the harming themselves, they just laid the future out so he would lead himself into trouble. They are evil, and that Macbeth had fallen just like they hoped him to. Macbeth thought to confident, but he was trapped by evil, and their was no stopping it. The three apparitions led him right into the dark. He tries to blow off the first apparition and doesn't worry about Macduff.
