Martin interpretation of a Womanist is a black African woman who knows her identity. A black woman who is committed to surviving. An ancient slavery woman who has experienced the different challenges because of the color of her skin. Martin specifies that Womanist has a reputation for challenging the male understanding of the Christian faith.
