Eleven thousand women are serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. One hundred eighty three thousand troops of both genders comprise the USMC's end strength. Fifteen percent of all U.S. service members are female. Men need to get the idea that women can and are able to do as much as men in military arms. Women are more effective in some circumstances than men allowing them to double in talent for jobs that require interpersonal skills that not every soldier has. In combat arms limiting the amount of women who can serve on the field can also limit the ability of commanders in theater to pick the most capable person for the job.

This battle was different from others since the platoon was made up of women. Women were not meant to fight in the combat forces but ever since the 1948 Women’s Armed Services Act, they were given the right to fight and they took it as a step forward to a better life. Ash Carter, a physicist and former Harvard University professor of Science and International Affairs, approved the final plans from military service branches to open up all the combat jobs to women. He authorized the military to begin facilitating combat arms so women could become female soldiers. Women are treated as second class to men since men downgrade them due to their voice, body structure, and “roles” in life. Brigadier General Terry Ferrell, Major General from the Marshall University, said, "Since the onset of the conflict (in Afghanistan), I've seen men and women do exciting things on the battlefield and that is truly amazing. This argument makes sense because the physical side of women are lower than man. In basic training the standards of physical fitness have been set to suit men, and women attempting to reach them will over-stretch themselves. Also there is a factor of enemy abuse while both male and females are at risk of torture and rape, but misogynistic societies may be more willing to abuse women prisoners. However women have proven to be a good support in the combat system with morale, tradition and mission effectiveness. In the end there are more positives than negatives for women being allowed to serve in the combat
