2.4 The battle field
The battlefield involved formation of battalions under one command, where there was need for bombardment and siege. At the battle field, there was eminent shooting and bloodletting, while the exchanges led to the casualties and deaths. The battle has a number of risks. One of the risks was death, which was the most probable risk. The other risk could emanate from the vulnerability to wounds. The other risk was that of being taken hostage, which was the risk that the women soldiers were highly vulnerable to. Abduction was the other risk, where the abducted women soldiers could be used as spies by the enemies. Most of the female soldiers had to suffer from these risks, where in as much as some died, there were a number who succumbed to injuries. They had to react to these risks by following the command of their seniors

Even there were various risks that were faced during the war, including vulnerability to injuries, death and even infections. However, most of these women had to sustain the pain. They also found the need to disguise themselves since the law did not permit women from participating in the civil war since they were not trained. Even after participating in the civil war, they were not enlisted for pension or any form of reward. This proves the fact that the women went to the battle to form a descent for themselves. It is imperative to note that most of the women wanted to use the opportunity to share the trials that their loved ones had apart from openly fighting the vice of gender
