Religion is becoming a major factor in the business world of late. Many people are now bringing their religion to work and are more open to discussing religion in an office setting. Does this trend have to do with the influx of cultures into the workplace or does it have to do with a new generation stepping up to the plate? Arguments can be made for both possibilities and the information available on both is astounding. This paper examines the reasons, the affects and effects, and the future of religion in the workplace.

They are the group that will be replacing the baby boomers in the workforce; they are also deemed the baby boomers babies. And this will be the group that will create the future for the workplace and spirituality. Millennials have no problem speaking about their religion and involving it in their everyday life. Lambert (2009 p.155) states “Millennial teens have cited faith or spirituality as second only to their parents among the important influences on their lives”. It’s not by some mistake that these millennials feel this way; it’s because of the fact that they have been raised in a culture that speaks freely and openly about religion and spirituality. But according to Lambert (2009 p. 157) “the quest for balance could take many forms, including a greater focus on the Sabbath as well as less time and interest in work as a place of meaning”.
